The color payoff of Manic Panic Ultra Violet is top tier. For a quick purple fix it's always been my go to for vibrant long lasting color. When it fades, it fades to a nice gray/silver without the muddiness. You can also mix this with shampoo or conditioner for a good toner if you're in a pinch. 10/10 always recommend.
So I put some of this dye over my dark brown roots and the pink i had left over from my last dye job, and it looks absolutely magical. I feel like a whimsical pretty princess with my hair so vibrantly purple. absolutely five stars.
I got these free as a recognized reviewer. I just received them and have not used it yet. Normally I would use the blue sos pads but these seem like they are better quality and will get the job done. I would definitely purchase them. Comes in a pack of 4 so they will definitely last me a while.
The Manic Panic Ultra Violet is a great choice for blondes. I've been using it for about 6 months and after I bleach my hair I will use this the next day and it is such a vivid bold purple. The purple doesn't last that long but also doesn't run. It stays purple for about 2 weeks but fades out leaving highlights of light blue. I get so many compliments. I highly recommend.
Attention all my fancy poodle owners! Manic Panic products are safe for us to use when creatively grooming our fur babies. Since the formulation is more like applying a thick hair gel than a liquid, it stays put much easier (important when dealing with noncompliant clients), has intense, rich pigmentation leading to a vibrant and lasting color. One caveat: even the semi-permanent formulation is permanent on a white/light haired dog, much like it is on a blonde person. When I'm ready for a fresh color combo or another holiday approaches, I use a pet friendly bleaching kit to strip the older color before applying a newer different color. These do “layer” beautifully so that's also a beginner friendly option for home groomers. Overall I highly recommend the Manic Panic dyes for creative pet grooming! I have used the more expensive brand that starts with an “O” at $18/ 4oz tube. This is $10/ 4oz jar and the formulation is so similar if not identical. The pigmentation, saturation, application, and lasting duration are the same but Manic Panic is easily available at all major retailers. The other one is sold online or in specialty pet shops, taking much longer to arrive. Oh yeah, you can use the brands interchangeably, meaning you can layer them. It's just a really great product and saves so much money over its competition.
I've used a lot of purple toners and semi-permanent dyes, and this one actually delivers. Manic Panic Ultra Violet neutralizes brassiness really well and leaves a clean silver-violet tone instead of that muddy gray some products give you. It blends nicely over lighter hair and helps soften warm yellow tones without turning everything flat or dull. The color goes on evenly, doesn't smell harsh, and leaves my hair feeling conditioned instead of dry. I also noticed it helped camouflage some grays, which was a nice bonus. If you leave it on longer, you can get a slightly deeper violet tint, but it still fades gracefully rather than going patchy. If you want a cooler tone with a hint of personality and zero commitment, this is a solid choice. Definitely recommend for maintaining blonde, silver, or platinum hair. Five stars. No drama. Just good dye.
Affordable? Yes, but not worth reappliaction every couple of days. it fades too quickly and even when applying heat protection its not enough the color still fades. Stains everything and everywhere. In the summertime it bleeds constantly. Its gross. I absolutely do love the vibrancy. I wish it were permanent and not as messy. It's definitely cheaper than Sally's.
I actually had problems with walmart.com. When I ordered these items, I had ordered the color After Midnight but received this one instead. I also only received one of the two that I ordered. This is a purple, not a blue. The one I ordered was blue. I have tried this colored in the past just to change the blue a little bit. It does not do much. It does not stay in very long.
I wouldn't recommend it's barely enough to do whole head and it isn't as bright purple as expected and we left on for 45 minutes. It stains skin bad too
I bought this for my niece as a surprise for her first hair coloring. and it came totally busted. The delivery driver was nice but the product was all spilt inside the bag It doesn't even look like there was enough product in the jars either. had to ask for a refund. they'll be picking The damaged product today. so at least I know Walmart holds up to their end of the bargain.
