Marcy Adjustable Standard Weight Bench with Butterfly MD-389

I had a huge bowflex, took up half the room.. Only needed the leg attachement. Sold it and got this! The leg attachment on this works BETTER than my $2500 bowflex and doesn't take any room!! I love it!! I am 5'3' 125 pound female and it is perfect for me... Got it for $90 bucks? I still cannot believe it!! Very sturdy. bench is very well cushioned... looks and works like a high quality bench!!

I'm not a heavy lifter, but I needed a good all-around unit that would work several muscle groups. This bench met my needs exactly. Price is good and assembly was not challenging. I had a missing part in the box, that was quickly resolved be Walmart. No problem with the spread distance on the support arms.

For what I paid for this product, this is really good for people who may want to get back in shape but may not want to pay $400+ for a "really good" weight bench. I get a really good workout in on this machine. The only thing I wish that it had was one of those lat pull-down bars. My husband had it up and ready to go in 30 minutes. We already bought a bar and the weights, so we were good to go...I have a baby, so going to a gym is definitely out of the question. Fits right in my bedroom.

Ok, first you need to take your time putting this bench set together. As has been said, do not open all the nuts and bolts until you need them or you will be sorry. VERY SORRY. FORGET THE GUY THING and read the directions for putting this together. I believe the bench was for a maximum for 100 lbs so don;t try to use more weights then recommended. If you take your time, follow the directions and know anything about using some tools then you will be just fine. I used an adjustable wrench and a ratchet set, plus a blade to open the nuts and bolts when needed. There will always be people who complain because they did not know what they were doing. The directions are a little confusing but pretty good in general. I think this is an excellent bench and will help me to get into shape. OK, with the getting into shape do not try to do too much at first or you will hurt yourself. Do stretching prior to using the wright set. I watch YOUTUBE videos to learn how to use the equipment properly. You can do the same.... I think you will be very happy with this weight bench. IS IT PERFECT - no but for the price...... ALSO, one last thing, when using your weights, PLEASE make sure the clips are on properly to hold the weights on the bench and also on the weight bar that you will buy.

After reading the reviews I was a bit weary about ordering this product being a taller male - 6'2 and a lot of the reviews talked about it not being fit for taller people but after using the product I can say I have ABSOLUTELY NO TROUBLE using this bench or any components. Only took me about 45 mins to put together the instructions are clear if you read them carefully. DO NOT open the package of nuts and bolts until you are ready to use them. I read someone talking about the preacher curls not allowing a full range of motion a problem that is easily fixed by simply removing the top ankle cushioning and bar when not in use. It simply slides right out. I can agree with the uprights being a little close together. But it's not a big enough inconvinience to ignore the value. The ONLY problem I have with the product is the butterfly curls. The mounts hit the uprights about mid motion which is mildly annoying. Currently looking into a fix. All I do is pull out slightly on the way up to allow the extra room between the mounts and uprights. Again not a big enough problem to ignore the value. Overall I would say if you're looking for a good sturdy bench at a great price. Buy this bench.

before i bought this product, i compared the price with target and kmart. target it was 139.00 and kmart it was 149.00 and here it was $97.00 its a great value!! it took me about 20min to build the bench by my self, all i had to do was fallow the instruction as is, and it was simple to build!

This is a great bench for the price I shopped many store even online and I am very happy to say this was a good deal. I use about 300 pds of weight and it does the job you must get this one

I purchased this for my husband. For the price it was good but he is disappointed in how small it is. He is averge height but this seems to have been made for young teens or women not grown men. He can still use it but it had to modify workouts to accommodate the narrow lifting space. Doing the butterflies he couldn't fully extend , and the preacher bar was awkward.

I used it the first time today and found that when doing the barbell bench flyes,the barbell is almost touching the edge of the post.Not enough space for this exercise..

The product is well made considering the price. Assembly wasn't too bad either. However you quickly see the flaws in the product once you start using it. The bench is too short and too thin. I'm 6 foot and there is very little room for movement, and the width of the bench make it very uncomfortable for your shoulder blades. Also the hand holds are way too close together. The fly add-on and leg machine are also a joke. Neither allow full extension and thus make it a waste and more of just a novelty to look at. The only reason I did not give this product a 1 star was because you can actually use it as a bench, just it's very uncomfortable. However I would not reccomend buying it to anyone. Your better off getting a flat bench and using dumbells.
