The bars are a LOT lighter than I thought they'd be! Maybe a pound for the dumbbell an 3 pounds for the EZ curl. I was skeptical of durability, but i think they will hold up fine. I've had 114 lbs (including (4) 6lb plates that create odd numbers sometimes.) of cast plates on the EZ bar and it felt fine with no real flex. The knurled grip areas are sharp! I knocked the rough spots down a bit with sandpaper. I prefer the other Dumbbells I have with rubber grips and screw on retainers. For the price though, this above listed is tough to beat.
In two weeks with the curl belldumbbell set, I have increased my biceps 2 inches. I expect even larger increases by the holidays. Just this morning one on the ladies said she noticed my arms ar getting bigger.
What can I say. It's a metal bar, didn't cost much which is why I bought it! Does the job. Of course II's hollow rather than solid, I wouldn't think it would handle huge weights, but it's a $20.00 set whereas half as much as most curl bars alone. If you're a power lifter this bar won't hold up. If you're the other 98% of us that don't lift huge weights nor do I ever care to, it should do just fine. FYI, I had 150 pounds on the bar yesterday with no problems.
As a 56-year-old cancer survivor, I just wanted something to help me regain some muscle strength and mass. I like the curling bar; it's lightweight and easy to handle, more ergonomically correct than a straight bar, and shorter which makes it easier to store. I've been happily using some 5-and 2 1/2 lb. plates which are perfect for me. But beware; because this bar is so light, don't expect to do any really heavy workouts with it. I have a bit of a problem with the spring collars. My hands aren't very strong, and sometimes I struggle with them. Also, the ends of the bars have little rounded plugs inserted. The plugs don't always fit properly; sometimes they are a little crooked which makes it even harder to slip the spring collars over the ends. All in all, however, this set is an excellent deal for the money.
I already had the curl bar and dumbbell set from Walmart that you had to put the curl bar together and had the threaded ends. I was not happy at all with that set. The lock nuts came loose every time I used it and the angles in the curl bar were way off. I purchased this set because it looked more like the curl bars I was used to. I am very happy with this set. The spring collars seem to work better than the threaded ends, the quality of my set seems to be good and it feel much more natural to work out with. I would definitely recommend this product, especially at this price.
I was looking for a curl bar for my teenage daughter and myself, many that i found were very expensive. This one is a great value for the money, and it is small enough for our arms, as we are both very short, 5ft 1in and 4ft 11in. The bar itself is very light and we do not need it for much weight so it is perfect for us.
This product is exactly what it is supposed to be, and at a very good price. I could not find another comparable price anywhere. I have used this product just a short time but it looks good and feels to be made with quality in mind. I could not be happier ......
works for what i need it for, holds weights and im not scared about it breaking or anything... few things people may want to take note of:: fit seems loose, between the bar/weights seems like there is a small gap(smaller diameter than should be?) not a huge deal. clips also arn't terribly snug, again not a huge deal and in my experience its common for clips not to fit perfectly/stay snug for too long anyways. handles for the barbells are smaller than barbells ive had in the past, again not a big deal. that being said the value for these items is good even taking into account the little issues.
these aren't real metal bars they are like a hollowed out metal of something like that. i you aren't looking to load up this bar with tons of weight its ok. same for the handles.
package came with one end completely open end off box was missing along with curl bar and 4 off the clamps only 2 dumbell bars and 2 clamps inside off box smh walmart gave refund bjt if this is how the 3rd party does business i wouldnt recommend them
