Marcy Recumbent Exercise Bike: ME-709

Was looking for a truly recumbent bike and this definitely is. It's not hard to put together, looks nice, works well and is simple. I have long legs and can sit back and fully extend legs using this, like this much better than a sort of in between an upright and recumbent I had before.

I loved that this was recumbent and therefore more comfortable for someone with Parkinson's who has to be very careful with balance and who needs exercise daily. The therapy cycles for P.D. are very spendy in the thousands so I decided this one fit the bill. The person I bought it for immediately liked it and uses it daily. It is a bit tricky to put together but not too difficult. I am a 67-year-old woman who assembled it alone and did it without too much frustration or difficulty. The person I bought if for is 72 and he uses it daily now. I use it too. I have it positioned in front of the television so he can enjoy watching a program or listening to music while getting the cycling in. I did buy some gym mats to set it on.

Quality exercise bike. Easy to put together. Extremely well packed. Took as much time to unpack as it did to assemble. Holes lined up. Heavy duty bolts and screws. Tension wire assembly not hard to attach, just technical/precise and make sure wires do not cross each other. Good YouTube vid that shows how to attach. Seat is comfortable and arm rest good for resting arms. Feet straps are for smaller feet/shoes. Straps could be longer for wide feet/shoes. Took them off. Silent when pedaling. I use tension 3 and it gives me good workout.

Fantastic for keeping knees flexible after knee surgery. Doesn't take up much room and the digital panel is good for monitoring distance, speed, timer and lifetime distance.

Make sure to decrease the tension when attaching the computer. The wire isn't long enough if you don't. It was pretty easy to assemble after I figured that out. Works well and fills the need.

My wife who is in her 80s and has a hip replacement uses the bike for exercise especially when the weather is not to like. I was not expecting it to be so good. Given it's price is on the low end for recumbent exercise bikes, I was expecting there would be a lot to put up with. There isn't! Unlike some bikes, it's quiet. Don't spend more. This is a good bike that works well.

I have had a recumbent bike before and set it out by the street! I ordered this Marcy ME-709 based on other customer reviews and am glad I did! It is quiet and smooth and easy to move around to different locations in the house. I ordered it on a Monday and it was here, home delivered, on Wednesday of the same week! I had not expected it until the following week! Am completely satisfied with the bike and the delivery speed! Oh, and some reviews said it took 2 people to put it together, but, my son put it together without help.

ALL THE GREAT REVIEWS ARE TRUE. MY BIKE IS PERFECT AND EVERYTHING WORKS. IT'S QUIET, COMFORTABLE, AND EASY ON YOUR JOINTS. IT'S PERFECT IF YOU HAVE KNEE PROBLEMS LIKE I DO(I WAS A RUNNER FOR YEARS). IT'S PERFECT IF YOU'RE SHORT LIKE I AM, 4'11, SINCE YOU CAN ADJUST THE LENGTH. THE 1ST TIME I USED IT I DID 60 MINUTES AND I HADN'T EXERCISED IN 2YRS DUE TO SURGERIES (NOT MY KNEES). ALL I CAN DO IS ADVISE THE INDIVIDUALS WHO RECEIVE A DEFECTIVE BIKE, TO RETURN IT TO YOUR LOCAL WALMART AND ORDER ANOTHER BIKE. WALMART ALWAYS REPLACES OR REFUNDS ANYTHING I RETURN EVEN IF I ORDERED IT ONLINE. SOMETIMES PRODUCTS ARE DEFECTIVE. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE PRODUCT IS NOT A GOOD PRODUCT; IT JUST MEANS YOU RECEIVED A DEFECTIVE PART. COMMON SENSE DICTATES THAT SOME PRODUCTS WILL BE DEFECTIVE. NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS PERFECT. I HOPE THIS HELPS SHOPPERS. IT'S WORTH THE PRICE. BY THE WAY, I HAVE HAD THE PRODUCT FOR OVER A YEAR AND EVERYTHING STILL WORKS; INCLUDING THE MONITOR.

For the price it is an excellent bike. You need to be careful of the plastic shroud covering the mechanism and it's not designed for heavy use. (It's a home-use bike!) I am an older person and ride it twice a day for 30-min per time. ( I purchased it for the pandemic lock-down.) No negative issues. Thank you and I recommend the bike for the purposes I described.

I have just received this and the tension is very tight and is the same on all levels 1-10 I have had people who use bike at gyms test it and they say it shouldn't be like this. I have called 5 times and only once a lady emailed me instructions on how to change....didn't work and can't speak to a human since. I have set in cue to their customer service so many times only to have them cut off the call.
