Nice bike reasonably priced

Marci July 15, 2026

This bike is such a great workout for the average person. I have back problems and the strengthening of legs is a big help. Plus being able to ride any day any time is a major plus. Then I can just walk the dogs slow and short which is best for them.

I was doubtful, but truly am impressed!

GBRwife August 29, 2016

I am not an avid exerciser, I do have a bike for outdoors, but I honestly don't agree with the saying "it's like riding a bike", #fearoffalling. I was skeptical about purchasing the Marcy Recumbent Bike, ie, too good to be true, price to cheap, quality, etc. 1) When the box arrived, I really had my doubts (box was in horrible shape) BUT everything was there when we opened (which was surprising with all the holes in the box & bolts flying loosely in the box. 2) I had my husband put the bike together, but I'm pretty sure I could have done myself...he had together in less than 1/2 hour. I was riding away after that! 3) I do have 2 bad knees, (ACL or MCL damage from years ago that was never fixed), but the tension at 1, 2 or 3 is excellent for starters or bad knees, (not too much strain). Pedaling is smooth, not "jerky". 4) I think the seat is very comfortable (especially compared to a normal bike seat). I also have a broken tailbone from a few years ago and it hasn't bothered that like a normal bike seat. 5) I have my bike in the family room, we can watch TV without having to turn the sound up. (right next to my husband's recliner!) 6) I have moved it around the room and no problems as someone has mentioned in other posts. 7) This bike is sturdy, I don't feel like I'm going to fall off. My 5 year old grandson had to test it out when he was here...he's too short to reach pedals from the seat but stood on the pedals and used front bars to hold onto & bike didn't tip. (we do have on carpet) 8) I have not adjusted the seat since my husband set it for me, if he uses it he will have to adjust as he is almost a foot taller than me (so not knowledgeable about how easy/difficult that process is) 9) The monitor is basic, a general idea of calories used, distance, & time (nothing fancy) but easy to use & read. Does take 2 AA batteries which are not included (unless they fell out of the box). I hope this helps with your selection. I read a lot of reviews on other products and rolled the dice on this bike but I would & have recommended this to other family and friends. The best exercise equipment I have purchased and continue to use.

I am very impressed

bookgamer December 2, 2011

We bought this bike because winter was on its way and we needed to drop a few pounds. I researched and looked around at different stores but didn't want to spend $1000 on a piece of exercise equipment. We found this bike at Walmart for under $200 and figured we would give it a shot and if it was terrible we would return the thing. Setup - very very easy setup, horrible instructions. I'm a very handy person and was able to figure it out but it definitely takes 2 people to setup the bike due to the wires you have to connect (just snaps into place but its hard to hold the handle bars up by yourself). Takes about 30 minutes to put together and 30 minutes to pull everything out of the box and unwrap. Use - The seat is comfy for an exercise machine and I love the straps on the pedals. The tension seems just right. I haven't worked out in a long time so even setting 2 was a challenge the first time we used the bike. We have been using it for 30 minutes every day since then and absolutely love it. Timer/Controls - these are super easy to use. You can reset each zone or just reset the timer. It also keeps track of how much use the bike has gotten in miles. Noise - When using this bike there is NO NOISE AT ALL. I was impressed. Any bike I've ever been on has been loud. We watch tv while using the bike and it doesn't disrupt anyone else. Seat Positions - There are about 6 or 7 different seat positions, sliding the seat out takes some muscle. Overall a great purchase and great quality piece of equipment. Will recommend to all my friends.

great price, exactly what I wanted.

CakesMcDuff4 January 27, 2014

The bike looks good and works great. Doesn't take up too much room either. It was easy to get together - but you do need help with hooking up the computer cable in the neck. Get someone with small fingers to help. Lots of neighbors have come over and checked it out and plan to buy the same one. Only complaint - FedEx dropped it off at some other house - with a totally different address. I wish Walmart would give options for other shipping or for signature required. It weighs 65 lbs and was a hassle getting it home and in the house (I'm disabled). Other than that, love the bike!

Great value.

Pedalingmomma January 31, 2014

Quiet, smooth pedaling. Easy to assemble with everything needed for assembly included, but does take 2 people. Comfortable and wide seat and back cushions. Couldn't believe that it measures time, miles, speed and calories for this low price. Batteries required. Can be easily rolled about by one person. Gives a great workout for an amazingly low price. Even has straps to hold your feet onto the pedals! Couldn't believe all that is included for the price. Very pleased!

Awesome value for a low impact machine!

cogerd December 25, 2013

The bike assembled easy in about 45 minutes while being distracted. Absolutely best equipment for the money! It came down to this one or the Schwinn which was $100+ more, but the reviews on this were so numerous and positive we went with this one, and have loved it since! The recumbent bike style is working awesome for my wife who has had two torn ACL's and multiple other leg surgeries. After two weeks she began noticing that her knees weren't aching all the time and after 3 weeks never creaked or popped anymore. The only complaint we have is you really need to be over 5'3" or 5'4" to use it comfortably out-of-the-box. My wife is 5'1" and uses a pillow behind her back. Hasn't been an issue after that though. At 6'2" it has been comfortable for me to use in almost any position. We highly recomend the bike for low impact exercise. Very quality build, everything has operated as promised, and I fully expect to get years of heavy use out of it. We bought through Walmart instead of Amazon because of the free shipping. That knocked $42 off the overall bill.

Excellent purchase

Barbie August 1, 2020

I really like this exercise bike and would highly recommend it. Assembly was easy by following the directions. It is easy to get on and off as no high stepping. The seat and back are very comfortable. The peddling is smooth. 8 adjustments on the dial for resistance. I like the digital read outs. Peddles are wide and comphy as well. I feel this was an excellent buy. The price is very very reasonable for the quality of the product. It provides a good work out. I would highly recommend this bike.

The ME-709 is a basic bike but at $139 at Walmart

OldHal30 December 23, 2013

Before purchasing this bike I read the reviews posted on Walmart's site and several other sites. Most were generally neutral in nature but commented on the difficulty in assembling the adjusting cable. I started my assembling sitting on the floor and while the instructions were mostly simple I encountered difficulty with the cable assembly. Understanding that it takes two people to do this I had my wife assisting. She sat in a chair holding the handlebar upper unit while I hooked up the display cable without a problem. The drive cable was another story. After about 10 try's using my wrists and arms I sat back and studied the hardware. Eureka!! I changed places with the wife with my sitting on the chair and her standing. FROM ABOVE I pulled the cable out with ease and hooked it to the upper unit. Installed the upper unit onto the lower unit and bolted them together. The rest of the assembly went smoothly and within less than 2 hours I was done. Made size adjustments and started using the bike. It is virtually noiseless and there are 8 adjustments for effort. Love it!

Good bike for the price

lorrdel May 1, 2014

The bike is a decent product for the price. It is less costly for the same bike at Walmart then on any other website that I researched. I had it delivered to the store and had them put it together (at no extra charge) for me since some of the reviews stated it was difficult to put together and some other complaints stated pieces were missing upon delivery. I did have to have someone help me adjust the bike to fit my leg length. The bike works very well, but does make a slight noise when peddling of which I believe it just needs to be tightened a bit. The seat, which is pretty wide is a little uncomfortable for me only because I broke my tailbone 4 years ago so I need to use a cushion while riding. The seat should be fine for most people. The computer works well, and very easy to use. It is not overly heavy or take up a lot of space and can be rolled via the two small wheels on the front if you need to move it when you are finished with your workout. I would recommend this product—but use the site-to-store option so you won't run into any problems trying to put it together yourself.

Comfortable, solid feel, easily adjustable.

JFC2 May 6, 2014

Great bike for the Money! Does everything I need it to do at a fraction of the cost of high end machines. I purchased the bike to rehab my knee but find myself peddling away in front of the tv instead of being a couch potato. Compact, easy to move on it's built in rollers. Computer system is bear bones basic, but records everything I need to know. Best investment I've made in exercise equipment.
