Inspire them to continue developing their gifts
The person I purchased this book for is a young aspiring and very talented artist. This book was the next logical progression in her artistic growth. Among manga enthusiasts and professionals alike, it is highly regarded. The young artist I gifted this book to loves it and was ridiculously excited to dig right in and learn new and develop existing techniques. This made me very happy, as I know it will contribute to her future success!

Easy to Follow
This was a gift for my 17yr old. It covers basic manga drawing techniques without being juvenile, while addressing advanced lessons on backgrounds, inking, sequencing and layout options. It is very practical. 30 drawing lessons, Ch1 Heads & Faces, Ch2 Proportions & Poses, Ch 3 Setting the Scene. Features 101 eyes, 50 ways to draw hands, 40 hairstyles, 12 common facial expressions, plus 30 classic poses. There is a "kissing"section, but no naked figures. My daughter is not a beginner, but found this book very helpful. Great resource!

Great book for the basics
I will never understand the anime fascination but regardless my little sister loves art and loves drawing in this form. This was much bigger and better in quality than I expected. She really liked it and her drawings are already improving.

Not appropriate for young children
I bought this book (online) for my 11 yr. old daughter and had to return it because there were step by step instructions on how to draw the characters kissing and making out. Not good for younger audience.
