Maybelline Master Precise by Eye Studio Pencil Eyeliner, Vibrant Violet

I was on the hunt for a liquid liner that applied more like a pen than a brush in order to get the perfect line and wing. I struggle with doing precise work on my eyes as I'm just too impatient but I found this liner worked really well. Its really affordable and it lasts all day. I didn't have any problem with the colour fading over the course of the day and found it stayed in a neat line and didn't feather. I wore this most days and do my makeup at 4.30 am and don't get home until 6pm and its still perfect! I only wish it lasted longer as I found It ran out fast though maybe I just used it too much. If you need a liquid liner and prefer the 'pen-type' application I recommend this product!

Why change the formula and tip design of one of the best long lasting eye liners on the market? I have been using this product since it came on the market many years ago and have recommended it to everyone. I work in a humid environment and this eyeliner was the only one that stayed put all day. It took me years to find one that would perform in the environment I work in. I have been using the new formula for 2 weeks and by noon it has faded and started to run everywhere, including into my eyes. I'm so disappointed with this product. I really don't understand why it has been changed...? Please take note of the recent reviews you have on your page because we are all saying the same thing. Bring back the old formula and flexible tip because this product does not work!

I have been a dedicated master precise buyer for a number of years and loved the product but this new one is beyond disappointing. It dries out too quickly, smudges too easily but won't budge with a makeup remover. Bring back the old formula, it was great! It stayed put, didn't smudge or run and was a breeze to remove when needed. I'll be on the hunt for a new eyeliner.

I used the old version of this eyeliner religiously as it wad comparable to the likes of the Stila eyeliner but at 1/3 the cost. Great tip and formula was smudge proof and waterproof but easy to remove. Now the new packaging and formula is quite possibly one of the worst eyeliners. Similar to the cheap ones you can get that deserve to sit unused in an old makeup bag. Tip is a rough sponge with no ability to get a thin inconspicuous line or cat eye without looking like a drag queen. The formula itself smudges and doesn't go the distance. So hard to remove even with eye makeup remover. God awful - need to find another eyeliner now. Moral of the story - don't fix what isn't broken. Won't be Australia's #1 eyeliner much longer. -_-

I too agree with the recent negative reviews on this product. This was my favourite liquid liner but the new formula doesn't work for me. The new tip is dryer and not as soft as the old one. Clean precise lines are no longer possible and the new formula gives me the worst panda eyes at the end of the day. Maybelline please listen to your customers and bring back the old formula and liner. Unfortunately you've lost a loyal liquid liner customer and based on recent reviews I'm not the only one who will now have to search for another brand.

I have been a long time user of this eyeliner. It WAS my holy grail eyeliner - it beat ALL the top end brands in my opinion. I would always recommend it. The recent change to packaging and product is horrible. Don't waste your money, this is nothing like the previous formula, tip or packaging (the lid comes off easily in my makeup bag). Like other loyal fans, I am so disappointed with the new version - I immediately noticed the difference in one application. You will lose a lot of fans - listen to your feedback and bring back the old version.

I had found the perfect eyeliner when MAYBELLINE first released the "master precise liquid eye liner". I have used it for years and absolutely loved it. I also constantly got feedback from people on how prefect and delicate it looked. I recently purchased the newly released version and to my disappointment, its actually bad... The tip is different and it applies quiet poorly, you don't get the same even flow. Not sure why a good really good product had to change. Please go back to the old tip and formula!

For the past few years I have purchased a master precise liner every couple of months. I raved about them. They were an excellent product and a fantastic price. Last week I picked up one of the new ones and... ugh. It's changed for the worse. - The tip is dry. I can only get liquid out by lying the brush flat and dragging it across the back of my hand but it won't work precisely across my lid. The old one was amazing. You'd just swipe and go and people would ALWAYS comment on how good it looked. - The formula seems different but that might just be a result of the appallingly poor applicator. I have no idea why the product was changed but it's atrocious. I went online to look for similar reviews and that's how I ended up here. Save your money, folks and buy one of the other (unfortunately more expensive) brands. This WAS an excellent product. It is now useless. I threw it away.

I have used the master precious liquid eyeliner pen for years and years. I wear a cat eye every single day and it has been the best brush tip and formula ever until it changed recently. The top went from almost like a brush to a spongy but scratchy huge cone. It's terrible and so hard to use and I consider myself an eyeliner expert. And to make it worse, the formula isn't as black, is patchy and wears off by the afternoon. Worst decision ever and I read Maybellines replies that this was based on customer feedback which I cannot understand as this was the best most universally loved eyeliner on the internet so why would you ruin it?!?!?! Devastated.

I've been a long time user of this and many of Maybelline's products and this is by far the worst experience. The eyeliner melted and smudged like nothing I've seen before. Two hours into my day and I looked like I'd been punched in the face twice. It melted and smudged all around my eyes even though I only had it on my top lid. Ironically it was then somehow incredibly difficult to wash off, practically scrubbed my eyes raw.
