First off, I don't know what "gluten-free" really means. If it is supposed to make the gravy taste different or odd, then it does not. This is the same great tasting turkey gravy that you normally get from McCormick. It is quick and easy to fix. I just throw the powder in a small sauce pan, add 1 cup of cold water, turn the burner on medium hi, and stir continuously. Once the gravy is heated to the point of "bubbling" in the sauce pan, I turn off the heat and set it to the side to cool for eating. The whole process take about 5 minutes from start to finish. After cooling for a couple of minutes, the gravy is ready to cover those mashed potatoes! And it tastes great!
McCormick Gluten-Free Turkey Gravy Mix, 0.88 oz DIRECTIONS 1. STIR water gradually into Gravy Mix with whisk in small saucepan. 2. STIRRING frequently, cook on medium heat until gravy comes to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 3 to 4 minutes Very easy and simple.tasted the same as "regular"gravy. a great healthy option without the loss of taste.
Love the gluten- free Turkey gravy mix! You cannot even tell it is gluten free. Just mix 1 cup of water and microwave for about 1 min and that's it! I stir after 30 seconds just to mix it up, but even if you forget, it never clumps. This is great for those times when you don't want to mess with saving drippings for gravy. It also has less calories than the drippings and you are not eating all of the fat and oil. My family loves it and I always keep some on hand. Everyone can eat it and no one knows the difference. I like the packaging too as they store easily and have a long shelf life. You can also use it as seasoning in stuffing and in Turkey loaf. So many things to use the McCormick seasoning for. They have a website with all kinds of great recipes if you are interested. Great taste, great product! I would definitely recommend.
McCormick's new Turkey Gravy Mix - Gluten-Free was a snap to prepare, taking less than ten minutes from start to finish. The adding of the mix package with one cup of water in my small cooking pot went quickly and resulted in a smooth lump-free solution. After bringing the gravy to a boil and allowing it to simmer for the recommended three of four minutes, I let it cool and thicken slightly. The new McCormick Turkey Gravy Gluten-Free Mix tasted every bit as good as other standard turkey gravy mixes I have tried. For those people who are gluten sensitive or have other chronic digestion problems like IBS, this gravy mix will add great flavor to your favorite dishes without the ensuing discomfort that often comes later on.
Great gluten free Turkey Gravy. I use it a lot as I have 2 relatives that have gluten allergies. Tastes good.
Its thick %26 juicy, not too salty tasting. Good. My family likes to eat thus morning, noon or night. Can't hardly wait for another Frick's hamsteak! Thank you.
This is Turkey gravy made easy, and it is delicious too. I am very pleased with this gravy mix. The envelope states it contains no Gluten, so if you are watching your Gluten intake this is important for you to know. The main thickeners are corn starch and potato starch. I poured a cup of water into a small pan, emptied the gravy mix into the water, whisking to blend. Putting it on a medium heat I whisked it frequently while it was heating, I brought it to a boil, then let it simmer for 3-4 minutes. That is all there is to it. It thickens while it rests and allows you time to work on the rest of dinner. The flavor of this gravy is delicious. I would not hesitate to serve this to my dinner guests and it makes preparing the meal a little less crazy. Whether you are watching your gluten intake or not, McCormick's Gluten Free Turkey Gravy should definately be on your shopping list.
I tend to use the packaged gravies to stretch my own gravy that I make, when I find I made a bit too little or company shows up. Altho this is just like my own, it still is a good tasting product. This gravy has deeper truer flavor for turkey than the any of the chicken, brown, beef, white or mushroom gravy flavor packaged types. The gravy came out smooth and thick. I found it also gives a nice natural color to the gravy. I mixed mine with my own gravy to extend the amt and it came out a nice deep rich color. It was quick to prepare and use. I also mix this with my stuffing and some additional sage and apple juice. It will be a pantry staple for us.
Whether a person is looking for Gluten Free due to a gluten sensitivity or just as a lifestyle change, it is nice to see Big Name brands offering more variety in their products. Many of the gluten free products on the market that we have tried are nice enough if you don't compare them to their standard counterparts. The taste is nowhere in the same ballpark. This Gluten Free Turkey Gravy however is pretty darn tasty. While it may be a little sweeter than regular turkey gravy, which leaves a very slight aftertaste, it does taste like turkey gravy. The thickening is nice, the consistency if prepared by the directions is nice and smooth. I would definately recommend this product to anyone in need of a nice Gluten Free gravy at an affordable price.
In my opinion, this did not taste at all like Turkey Gravy. It was dark brown and to me it was like having someone make a gravy and then add Kitchen Bouquet to make it darker. Kinda tasted like Beef Boullion Cubes. It was thick, but that is about all I could say good about it.
