Since these are split, they work great on a peg tube. They do a great job absorbing any leaking from where the tube enters the body.

These sponges are designed for soaking up "leakage" around gastro-tubes (G-tubes) or other tubes inserted into the body for medical reasons. Each sponge is slit from one edge to the middle so, when installed, the tube is in the center of the sponge. By using two sponges, one with the slit up, the other down, complete coverage with no gaps is assured. For my purposes, I found the use of two sponges to be overrkill. Leakage around my tube was only a drop or two so 16 sq. inches of sponge certainly was not needed, nor was the double thinckness. First, I cut one pad into three unique pieces and placed them. That worked fine, but the next version I simply cut each sponge into four equal squares. I folded each one and cut a " " sign into the center for the tube. Then cut a slit from one corner to the sign. This speicalized mod is adequate for my needs and is easier to install. Plus one package of sponges provides 200 changes instead of 25!! As a Walmart subscriber, these are delivered to my door at no extra charge.
