Mega Construx Pokemon Ivysaur interlocking Block Building Set

We loved our Ivysaur building set. It was a bit difficult for my six year old to build on his own due to the instructions being a little unclear and the colors of the bricks appearing a different color on the instructions. After it was built, however, it was very sturdy and durable. The colors are very vibrant and the pieces included were very nice, my son loved the pokeball. We were very pleased with this set. My 6 years old son is a Pokemon enthusiast, so he was really excited to build his own Ivysaur. He asked me to help since this was our first time doing Mega Construx. The instruction was easy to understand, but it did take a bit longer for us to build this one because even though this is a small set (94 pieces), it has many small parts. The way you put them together also is not exactly the same as Lego. However, once it's done, you can see the great details on Ivysaur and its background. My kids loved this. They enjoy building things and this is one that was just enough of a challenge that kept their interest all the way to the end. A few of the pieces were hard to snap together for them, so I sat and watched them build until they needed help. They still play with this and it continues to be their favorite toy right now. I gave this to my 7 year old son who is obsessed with Pokémon. He loved it! He had just as much fun building it as he did playing with it. It wasn't too easy or too hard for him to put it together. I got this Pokémon Ivysaur mega construx toy for my daughter because she loves building toys and Pokémon. I was so glad to have found this toy for her and she was excited to put it together. It was easy for her to do and she immediately started playing with it after it was constructed. She cannot wait to get other Pokémon mega construx to go with this set so she can battle them. Although there was a lot of packaging, the parts were easy to sort according to the instructions. My seven-year-old was able to put this together easily. The toy is cute; looks just like the picture. This is our first blocks toy, so we discovered that they aren't really for playing, but for displaying. The sphere got lost since it kept rolling away, but the rest is still together a month on. The pieces fit together easily, except for the teensy one-bump circles, which were too tight a fit for my kid to do. Cute, easy to build, looks great. My son is a huge fan of Pokemon characters and enjoys building toys, so this is a great combination for him. The scene is fun, and he enjoyed building it. When I placed the box containing this toy on the table, my son lit up. He has a moderate amount of exposure to Pokémon and he loves his other building toy sets, so he was pumped and ready to go. Upon opening all of the packages of pieces, the first thing he said was "this is going to be hard with so many tiny pieces. Turns out, he was absolutely correct, as all of the tiny pieces were hard for his hands to get together, and they didn't fit together very easily, to boot. Several times during the build, he had to ask for my assistance in getting pieces to fit right. The instructions seemed a bit different than other building sets we have done. The illustrations often included colored studs which actually confused my son more than helped him. He didn't realize it was showing where pieces would be placed, and actually looked for little red and yellow pieces instead. Overall, my son enjoyed the hour it took to build this little set. His biggest complaint was the vast amount of small pieces that hurt his fingers when he tried to assemble. As a parent, I was kind of disappointed with it. With other brick building sets we have purchased, he is able to sit and build it all with very minimal if any assistance from us. The end result, even with adult help, was a very clunky, poorly-designed building set that if anything just leans on its licensed franchise to get people to buy. With it also comes the burden of storing it separately from his other building sets, as the pieces are likely not as compatible as they could be.
