MegaChef 1.8Lt. Glass and Stainless Steel Electric Tea Kettle

I love this kettle. I don't know why I waited so long to buy one. I bought it to use with my french press. It's much safer than boiling water on the stove in a pot and then trying to pour scalding hot water into my french press coffee maker. Plus, I discovered all the other things I can use this for. It works great to pour over those instant noodles, or frozen vegetables as well, of course teas and other instant meals. So much easier than microwaving, or boiling on a stove that can make a mess. This is mess free and safe. My 15 year old loves it! He heats his noodles in it everyday and again I don't have to worry about him using the stove. It has a nice light effect also that lights while it boils the water. The glass is thick and nice and because it's glass it won't make the water taste different. Easy to use and set up as well. Has a mesh filter in the spout which is removable for cleaning and replaceable. This unit also has a warranty from the manufacturer. Because the glass is so sturdy, it appears as though it would travel well also if packed accordingly.

This is my first electric kettle, I drink hot tea and it was always sort of a chore to prepare it. With this kettle I simply fill the kettle half way up and in a minute I've got boiling hot water. I didn't expect it to be able to boil water this fast. I also really like the blue light when it's in use.

The fact that it's glass not plastic getting heated over and over make much more sense and the awesome blue light while the water is heating is a nice perk! It holds a large amount of water too, so that's nice for an avid tea drinker like I am. It does get heavy with a large amount of water in it because it's glass, but a fair trade for being healthier to use than plastic. Love it and would and have recommended it. In fact another family member bought one also and loves hers as well! 2 thumbs up!

I purchased this to use with my Melitta pour over set. The water gets super hot in a very short amount of time. I'm extremely happy with this kettle. I like that the bottom detaches for easy moving, but I wished there was a way to get it to stay on if I wanted it to so that I could carry it long distances. If it stayed attached until a button to release it was pushed, I would be much happier with it. The more water you add, the brighter the blue light illuminates. I've not added much water, just what I've needed to make a couple of cups of coffee. I transport it from one office to another some distance away in my car, and I don't want the water to spill out.

The blue light on this kettle makes it cool. The kettle heats quickly enough. It has a metal plate that covers the heating element, so it should last longer. I had a different kind before that only lasted about 6 months. I guess the on/off switch or something quit working on it. So far I like this one. I hope it lasts longer. The glass carafe has a more appealing look than cheap plastic. It would be better if the opening were a little bigger so cleaning would be easier for people with bigger hands. My small hand will fit in it but my son's big hands won't. Just be sure to clean it often so scrubbing won't be necessary if you have hard water.

Great for tea, instant grits,.. we used it for warming water to make bottles for bottle fed puppies. Have to watch the heat on it for that. Gets hot quick. Great item !!

Bought it was on sale before expire sale no good brand. This glass has BPA Free better than stainless. We love it would recommend to friend to buy this if you hit right time on sale before expire goes out.

Wasn't as large as I needed, but still a good choice for all-around use.

It does the job well but I only wish it was tad bit narrower and taller than being this wider glass jug as it occupies some significant space on my tiny apartment kitchen counter. It does heat up pretty well but this does take a little longer to heat up the entire jug than other brands I have used before. But for the price this is a steal !

It's a very nice kettle. I like that it has beautiful blue light that turns on when you switch the kettle on. The kettle has an automatic switch off once the water is boiled and ready. It fits 1. 8 liters which is good enough for about 4-5 cups of tea or coffee, depending on how big your cups are. Very easy to use, very nice looking, and for the price, so worth it.
