Very good quality and seems durable.. Directions were verygood and easy to follow. Only negative, not due to manufactuers , is that the box was damaged badly on one end/corner but this didn't affect the parts which were packed very well and padded. We highly recommend the set!
Great kitchen! My son is 2 and a half and LOVES this! It is well made and although it doesn't have any electronic sounds, I feel that that is more beneficial for his development and imagination. Although there are a few chips in places, overall it is heavy and well- made. Compared to other play kitchens, I like that it is masculine looking and timeless.
I purchased this kitchen set for my 2-year-old granddaughters' birthday. My son in law said it was very easy to assemble and was thankful for the easy instructions. My granddaughter loves it and plays with it every day. High quality product.
I ordered it for my Girls this Thanksgiving, they are completely in love with it. It's much better and bigger than there old plastic small kitchen. It's big, spacious, easy to assemble, Assembly instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The quality is everything I had hoped it would be, Love the rotating microwave plate and ice dispenser. It has lots of space inside the cabinets to put small toy utensils, plates and dishes. Good quality, great size, I'll recommend it to everyone looking to buy kitchen set for their kids. Packaging was excellent. Considering how heavy these kitchens are. The kitchen is of quality materials, and once you add pots and pans, it's so real for kids to imagine they are really cooking, they are too busy in this kitchen to disturb us in real kitchen. Hope it stays this way.
Just gave this to the youngest (2 yrs) grand-child for Christmas. It's a homerun! We have Christmas for them a week early for all the reasons you would recognize. While the older kids got expensive electronics, they all got involved in having fun in "pretend land" with the youngest around this kitchen. Melissa & Doug never disappoint. It's about a 2.5 hour assembly, but very easy and the instructions are excellent. Very little confusion and I took my time. Thanks so much M&D and Walmart. I didn't want a wood fiber board unit but my wife is so sold on Melissa and Doug products. As usual, she was wise to insist on this one.
This is a great play kitchen! My son loves it!It looks great;however, the box arrived super beat up with holes all over it. The kitchen was not damaged, but the hardware was opened up and every where in the box. I ended up realizing there were several pieces of hardware missing. I was able to replace the hardware, but it just caused a huge headache 3 days before Christmas! So I just hope the manufacturer will do something about packaging!
It was very hard to put together and it really needs 2 people minimum to put it together right. Some of the holes did not a 100% line up and it took a little bit of effort to get it to go in right.
I have always trusted Melissa %26 Doug products, but this recent purchase really changed my opinion. I bought the kitchen set online, and while assembling it I discovered a defective screw (which left me one short) and a microwave door with smeared painted numbers. Since the hardware comes with the exact number of pieces, missing or defective parts mean you are stuck. I contacted Melissa %26 Doug customer service expecting a simple fix—just two replacement screws and a new microwave door. Instead, I was asked an overwhelming number of verification questions, all of which I answered. They also required a copy of the receipt, and because online Walmart receipts look different from in-store ones, I even included a photo of the package delivered to my porch to confirm the purchase. Despite all this, they asked for additional proof of purchase and then suggested I return the entire product to Walmart for a full replacement—after I had already assembled it and only needed a couple of small parts. It felt like unnecessary hoops to jump through for something that should have been an easy customer-service resolution. Overall: The quality is not what it used to be back when the actual Melissa and Doug owned the company, and the customer service experience was far more frustrating than helpful. Just a heads-up for anyone considering this item. *** I only recommend purchasing this item on sale as the full retail price is significantly overpriced considering the actual quality, size, and lack of customer service. ***
Well my time arrived damaged and since this is a “marketplace” item my only option was to return the whole damaged item to the store 4 days before Christmas for a refund and have to set up a whole new item. Door completely cracked. Chip in the countertop. Completely ridiculous customer service. Didn't even offer a partial refund because it's a “marketplace” item and not actually sold by Walmart. Just buy it from Amazon or Target and get some actual customer service.
I purchased this kitchen and had it shipped to my son as a gift for my twin grandkids. The package was delivered on a bright, sunny, dry day but the shipping box was soaking wet. The box was drenched and falling apart, had gaping holes (so there was no way to know if all the parts were inside), the top %26 sides were open in spots and the contents were also wet. Not only did my son take photos of the damages but FedEx also documented the damage in their delivery confirmation to Walmart and included photos. Contacted Walmart for a replacement and was told that I would have to repackage it. How? The box was soaked and unusable. Customer service said they'd have someone get back to me by phone. Didn't receive the call. Called the next day and Walmart rep said they'd send FedEx out with a new box, pack it up and ship it back. A replacement kitchen would then be sent. FedEx was a no-show. Called Walmart AGAIN and was told FedEx wouldn't provide a box and no replacement kitchen was on the way. I was then told another carrier, Pilot Freight, would come, supply a box and ship it back and they would contact me within 24 hours to advise me of the pick up date. In the meantime a new kitchen would be sent to me immediately and Walmart would send a confirmation of the new kitchen's delivery date. Never heard from either of them. Called Walmart AGAIN and was told no replacement was being shipped to me and there was no record of anyone on their end contacting Pilot Freight. This last rep said she would make sure Pilot was contacted and that I would receive an email as to pick up date but that Walmart would not be sending a replacement. They would only refund my money. They said they only send replacements when the item is either shipped back by Fed Ex or brought to a Walmart store. (ridiculous!) That was this morning and I'm waiting to hear from Pilot. If Walmart had halfway decent customer service they would have honored the purchase by replacing the kitchen immediately and dealt with the return thereafter, since they have FedEx's proof of damages. I placed this order in good faith, received unusable, damaged goods and got nothing but a tremendous amount of aggravation as well as ZERO satisfaction from Walmart's horrendous customer service. My advice - buy it elsewhere.
