Very nice quality and well made with slick finishes on the knife and fruit, no rough wood texture. Box good quality too. Super secure velcro dots holding the foods together, strong enough to hold but my 2 year old daughter can pull them apart. It will take some practice for her to get the knife edge into the slit in order to cut the foods, but that's one of the skills she will develop by playing with it. I also bought a similar set on Amazon with more types of food and comes with a cutting board, but the quality wasn't nearly as good as this one. The foods were also much smaller than the Melissa and Doug set. Overall highly recommended, worth the money, and I feel my daughter will get years of use out of it.

My sister got this for my baby and my one-year-old absolutely loves it! I just wish it came with a cutting board. The only thing I feel is missing is a small box or basket to keep the fruit pieces together and prevent them from getting lost or making a mess.

I purchased this item for my two year-old granddaughter and she played with it intently for 10 to 15 minutes upon opening. For a two year-old, this is remarkable. She came back to it later and continued playing with it and her skills with the wooden knife increased within hours.

Love love love. My daughter fell in love with this and even slept with it for a week. She identifies colors and shapes so the game isn't too fun for me but it helps tremendously with her fascination of using the knife lol definitely recommend. Solid wood and colors are vibrant

My son absolutely loves these. We recently got a play kitchen, and these were such perfect accessories for it. The velcro allows for endless combinations and practicing coordination. The quality is fantasic, I am always a fan of melissa %26 doug toys. I love them so much I am thinking of sending them to my niece as a gift. Perfect for safe play for toddlers or young children, especially if they enjoy playing with food or in the kitche.

My granddaughters are 2yo. They love this toy. Now they can use it on their own. Melissa and Doug makea wonderful toys. Beautifully illustrated. Great quality. Lifelike. Durable. And creates hours of in-vivo learning. In addition to using this for learning, my grandbabies use it as fruit in their play kitchen and produce for their play market.

Our great grandson loves to help in the kitchen so this is great. He really spent over an hour cutting and putting the fruit back together. He is 22 months old. Great hand eye coordination for kids!!

It is a gift for my grandson and was recommended by a coworker to go with a play kitchen. She said her children enjoyed playing with them at that age.

one of the only memories I have from preschool is playing with these things in the little kitchen. And, as I had hoped, my son loves his fruit set as well. the only issue I really had with it, was that the velcro kind of sucks, and wears out really fast.

The only reason this item did not get all 5 is because there are 4 cupcakes but there were only two cupcake toppings, which was disappointing. My grand daughter can only play with two cupcakes at a time.
