This was a birthday gift for a 3-year-old. Even the adults at the party were playing with it! Everyone was very impressed with the quality and the educational value.

Can't go wrong with any Melissa & Doug product. This particular purchase happened to be flawed. The board with the picture of a sock had the word "cake" next to it while the picture of the cake had the word "sock". I called Melissa & Doug and the representative was extremely nice and they sent me a replacement. Great company and great learning products.

i love M%26D for a long while no. Love that Their items are all made from wood. This word set with the letters and spelling puzzles are fantastic. I love that the letters are all lowercase, which makes for an easier learning experience with my 3-year-old. I highly recommend purchasing this item. You would not be disappointed.

It's a great product , it helps my son to recognize animals and able to spell too , he loves it too

It didn't occur to me until after I purchased this online, that there is no cover, or anything to keep the letters from spilling everywhere. It has been a big problem for us as our little ones are 4 and 1 1/2, and they constantly dump the letters out. I wish it had a slide like wooden puzzles or at least something. Otherwise it's a decent toy.

I have always Loved Melissa %26 Doug Wooden toys, and this was ordered online and sent to my Granddaughter in New York, because I have had great past experiences. But the item came in the wooden box and no lid to contain all the parts and pieces. Past purchases have always had a clear plastic lid to keep everything together. That was disappointing and I would not have purchased if I had known this…..

WHY IS THERE NO LID?! I want to recommend this because of the educational value and quality of the letters and puzzles but it's such a pain putting away and keeping all of the pieces together - especially the letters - because there's no lid. I truly can't understand how that detail missed the QA process. We love learning how to spell using these puzzles together but I'm constantly finding the letters all over the place because of the design lacking a lid. Wish there were more of each letter so we can practice spelling other words outside of the puzzles.

We like this but I think the wood could be a little better quality
