Melnor Heavyweight Metal 7-Pattern Nozzle

I recently received the Melnor XT Heavyweight 7-Pattern Nozzle through the Spark Review program. The first thing I noticed when I removed it from the shipping box was that it was heavier than any hose nozzle I had ever owned. It is a “Heavyweight” nozzle as advertised. The body is made of metal with a layer of rubber covering part of the grip that made it comfortable and secure in my hand even when wet. The nozzle has 7 settings. They are: FULL/CONE/SOAKER/MIST/SHOWER/JET/FLAT. The first thing I used it for was to wash the car. I used the “Shower” and the “Jet” setting. The “shower” setting was like a gentle rain with a well controlled pattern. The “Jet” setting put out a strong, narrow stream that also had a fairly well concentrated spray pattern. Later my wife used the “jet” setting to hose off the bird droppings on the porch and rail and it worked very well. When I released the handle to shut off the nozzle I didn't notice any water leakage either in the hose connection or any part of the nozzle. I tried all seven of the settings to check how I might use them later. The “soaker” setting will be good to soak an area around my tomato and pepper plants. The “mist” setting will be a great refresher on a hot summer day. The large spray head makes it easy to adjust it to the setting you need. I am very impressed with and highly recommend the Melnor XT nozzle. It comes with a “limited lifetime warranty” and with its well engineered design and heavy duty construction it should last for many years.

The Melnor Heavyweight Metal 7-Pattern Nozzle XT451 is a really amazing water spray nozzle. The nozzle easily threaded onto my hose. There were no leaks observed when the water was turned on. I tried all 7 of the spray patterns. Each of the spray patterns will have a real use in our yard and garden. The patterns range from a solid stream, through various shower patterns to a very fine mist. The solid stream is useful for cleaning up the patio and driveway after the roadrunners passed through leaving their droppings which had dried in the hot desert sun. I set the nozzle to the steady stream with the water fully turned on and started spraying the dried droppings. Very quickly it started to soften and wash away. The hard hitting spray easily did its job much easier than my old spray nozzle. The fine mist setting is perfect for misting ferns and begonias. The other shower head like spray patterns provide the needed pattern for other garden watering tasks. I tried playing with the various spray patterns and was quite impressed with the flexibility of the nozzle. The nozzle has a flip lever so that depressing of the handle is not required for water to flow. There is an adjustment knob at the top of the handle for setting the water flow rate when the nozzle handle is depressed or when the flip lever is used. This is a nice feature. The only controls on the nozzle are this adjustment knob and the spray pattern selection knob . At first I felt this nozzle is really heavy. I tried weighing the nozzle on our bathroom scales and found that it was less than one pound, (the minimum that our scales will read) The weight is not a problem, but it does take a little getting used to. I would recommend this nozzle for yard and garden usage, but expect the nozzle to feel heavy. It is a very good nozzle. IT HAS 7 DIFFERENT PATTERNS TO SPRAY WITH. WITH JUST A SIMPLE ADJUSTMENT. IT CONNECTS TIGHT TO THE HOSE WITH NO LEAKS. IT HAS GREAT WATER PRESSURE. This is a great hose nozzle and so heavy and well made, I expect it to last for years and years. We've gone through so many of these, cheap and lightweight that don't last but no more. Lots of patterns to choose from and works like a dream! Highly recommend!

I didn't realize how much I would appreciate this nozzle until I put it in use! Before this nozzle I had a cheap plastic one that ended up breaking after a year. This one in comparison is heavy duty and durable. It comes ready to use. All you have to do is twist it onto the end of your hose. It has 7 different stream options, one for every use. You can easily change to a different stream by simply twisting the plastic head of the nozzle. The one I use the most is the straight stream. It's great for distances and spraying the kids (lol). There is a flat spray that is perfect for cleaning and a heavy and light shower for watering fragile plants to big plants. The nozzle is large but easy to grip. Especially because of the rubber grip that makes it easy to hold. The best part about this nozzle is that it does not leak! This was the biggest problem I had with my last one. Every time I used it I ended up getting all wet. Now I have a great nozzle that takes care of all my out door water needs! I definitely recommend.

Received my Melnor Heavyweight Metal 7-Pattern Nozzle. I immediately went to install it on my water hose. I have several things that I use this for and this nozzle meets all of my needs. This nozzle is made of metal construction and has a durable rubber grip that cushions the hand. The rear trigger design is easy to use also. After I hooked the nozzle to the hose, I was quite happy that it did not leak like so many do. That is so frustrating when you are trying to wash a car or something and more water is coming from the leak that the hose! The selection dial turns easily and clicks into place in each position with ease letting you choose how you want the water where you need it. It also has a built-in trigger lock that I very useful. There are seven stream choices and all are used for each individual tasks. Love the shower mode for just watering plants. Full has a good bit of force that will get a job done quickly! I will be getting more of these to put on the rest of my water hoses! Great quality and prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend these!

Great sprayer.

This review is for the Melnor Heavyweight Metal 7-Pattern Nozzle. It's made up of metal and rubber which makes it a bit heavier weight wise than the plastic ones. It feels very sturdy so it shouldn't break the first time you drop it on the cement. That happens to me quite often so it's nice if you find one that can hold up. The only problem I had was when I first hooked it up it leaked really bad where it screws onto the hose. So I added another washer on top of the one already in the sprayer and it stopped leaking and worked perfectly. It had more to do with the hose I was using rather than the sprayer nozzle itself. On my older hose I needed an extra washer but on my newer hose it didn't. This isn't the only sprayer I've had to adjust washers with so this means you may not have problems with yours at all. But if you do just change washer size. It did great with all 7 patterns of spray. You can use the basic jet, full, cone, soaker, mist, shower, or flat. It turns smooth when you are changing patterns.

Extremely well made. The weight is much heavier than expected. My hand strength may be an issue using this.
