Melnor XT 7 Pattern Metal Hose Nozzle

As soon as I saw it, I knew this nozzle is durable for at least a decade because of using lesser quality that lasted many years. The rubber on the XT201 is thick, coats most of the nozzle, and replaces the plastic that is used for the sprayer head on lower grade nozzles. This nozzle is composed of aluminum and iron according to the manufacturer Melnor. Rubber and plastic make up the rest. I have used other brands but find this hose nozzle with rear handle to have more endurance due to the composition and crafting. The stiff rubber surrounds and makes up all the sprayer openings so they will not dry out and crack off as plastic ones do. The rubber coated head will not crack should the nozzle get dropped by accident onto concrete. The pressure adjustment nut is large, shiny, and very visible so I will always remember to tighten it and it will not fall to the ground and get lost as can a smaller one. The space between the handle top and the body of the nozzle is large making setting the trigger lock prong simple. Incorporated into the body of the nozzle, this lock holds the trigger on to continuously deliver water so it is not necessary to keep squeezing the handle. Then, I can put the whole nozzle into my large galvanized water bucket to fill it for my pets and go get something else done as it gets full. Many other brands do not work well enough for the sprayer to stay on because their trigger locks do not hold or there is not enough space for them to fit. Melnor has paid a lot of attention to getting this feature right and I appreciate not having to stand in one place filling something up because the trigger lock does not work. The XT201 trigger handle only needs a slight squeeze to promptly send out a strong spray from every pattern. The thin jet shoots a lot more than ten feet, the shower is very full and even, the cone creates a circular spray, and flat makes the water one level that is wide like a hand fan. Full is the best for washing and cleaning off dirt and debris quickly from a large area. The fine mist is gently cooling for my pets in the summer heat, so this nozzle is important to me because I depend on a good mist pattern in my hose gun. My well water has some sediment in it plus the water is hard. Eventually, my nozzles get corrosion or sediment pieces jammed and stuck making small openings become clogged. One pattern might not spray correctly or at all. Luckily, Melnor says I can use products that safely dissolve lime scale, or vinegar, to dislodge this problem, and it will not harm the materials composing this nozzle. This is very important to me for the mist pattern the most, because my prior, different brand nozzle mist stopped working completely and there were times I needed it.

As a Walmart Spark Reviewer I love to test and review items that are made by companies that manufacture quality items such as Melnor. I have had the pleasure this month of choosing the XT201; Heavy-Duty Metal Hose Nozzle with Rear Trigger; 7 Spray Pattern to test and review. Sadly Mother Nature has played a cruel joke this “Spring” on Long Island in NY and has given us Snow Storms and extremely cold weather in April and May therefore I have not been able to turn on my outside spigot and bleed the line in order to hook up the hose and use the new nozzle. But with that being said I can base the following review on what is visibly available to me and knowledge based with reference to this companies products. First and foremost Melnor makes quality product all around. You really can not go wrong. 2nd this is a great nozzle, not too heavy in your hand, just right for a woman and my husband said almost light in his hand but perfect size. Having the 7 choices of spray patterns is great. Sometimes you want to have just a stream, of a “spring rain pattern”, more forceful stream when trying to wash the driveway or sidewalk, another for washing the car, therefore this is truly a wonderful Nozzle to have. As for the Rear Trigger I can only say my first thought after raising 5 boys was oh no who is going to try setting that on continuous spray to get his brothers soaking wet but I think it is a great idea for those of us especially who are getting up in age with arthritis. I was so excited to try this out! I seem to some how brake these alot during the summer. I usually go through 1 a season. But this one is way different its made well and seems sturdy. My daughter accidentally dropped it attached to the hose and it hit the concrete and guess what it still works! Hope it lasts for many years to come. A must have for summer!

The Melnor XT Metal Pattern Nozzle is one of the best I ever used. Nice tight fitting handle feels like it's part of the hose. Not a drop leaked out. I pull hoses all over the garden and no problems have shown up to this day. I never used the pattern changes as much as with this hose. They work great.

This nozzle is made of heavy duty plastic, not a cheap easily breakable quality. There are 7 different nozzle setting to provide the correct setting you need for multiple jobs around the house and yard. This is a very good nozzle and I would recommend this product.

I can't believe I used to wash my car without this nozzle. Switching between the different flows is super smooth and easy, but firmly clicks each time. Also, there was no dripping when I attached to my collapsible hose. I used the Jet, Flat and Soaker modes for my car specifically. The soaker was perfect for filling the soap bucket without spraying everything. Fits well in my hand. Highly recommend and I look forward to using for years to come.

There was no question I wanted this nozzle as I found it to be very well made, and heavy duty and no risk as it even has a manufacturer's lifetime warranty. The first thing I noticed when I picked it up was it's heavy weight. It is made of metal which is rare nowadays but is enclosed in a plastic skin over the metal which keeps it from getting hot, and protects it from rust which is a smart idea. Like many other people I've been buying nozzles for years and I refer to them as "disposable" as they seem to only work for a season before breaking. I'm hoping this product lasts a lot longer than that although I would like to point out that even though the casing is metal the inside working parts are still plastic. The nozzle has 7 spray options giving you great options. The options are full, flat, jet, shower, ,mist, soaker, and cone. Each one works great on specific tasks such as washing the car. or misting plants, "jet" for washing sidewalks etc. I see some people were confused with the "soaker" option. That's to be used when you want a gentle drip. This is great for watering tender seedlings and the like. There's is also a metal clip on the nozzle which can be pushed in place to hold the handle for you making it hands free. There is a rotating wheel which simple turns to choose the spray options you want. Simple turn the wheel and you will hear a click locking it into that option. Easy. I've found no leaks or vulnerable spots so far. It smoothly threaded on the hose without any problems . I like the idea that if a problem does arrive it should be covered by the manufacturers warranty. When I add up the positive features, the warranty and the low price point this product is a winner.

Excellent nozzle. Love all the spray patterns - for all type of used. Gentle spray for roses, strong spray for cleaning the patio. Many nozzzles these days are plastic and do not hold up well. I expect this nozzle to work for years, even in heat or being dropped on concrete. Very happy with this product

This Hose Nozzle..is well made..it's not some cheap precasted one you buy and it last...maybe a season..it's good to see some manufactures take pride in there produced.. to me this is a outstanding tool...heavy duty and works as it should...I don't no what the cost is to purchase...but it's well worth it...I think this tool will last for years...if maintained properly...it fits well in your hand as well...and it feels solid to the touch...Thank you fro a quality product...

Bought this Nozzle last year and thought it was wonderful. So disappointed, the first time I went to use it this year it leaks all around the yellow band above the black Nozzle head. I cannot get the various pattern settings and get soaked trying to use it.
