Microplane Classic Stainless Steel Zester and Cheese Grater - Black

I bought even cheaper versions of a micro plane/grater before and they were horrible. I thought for under $15, I'd try this one on line at Wal-Mart. It greatly exceeds my expectations. It is very sharp, comes with a blade protector for storage, cleans up easy, dishwasher safe. I have not used it to grate things like fresh nutmeg, but I suspect it will do just fine. Works very well on real parmesan cheese and does an excellent job zesting lemons and limes. Highly recommend!

A little finer grate than I was expecting but works well and I appreciate the product is made in the US

I've had one of these for many years. I bought the original one at a woodworking show. I use mine to grate Parmesan cheese for my homemade spaghetti sauce. I bought THIS one as a Christmas present for my adult daughter because when she was little, she used to steal the grated cheese from the kitchen counter before dinner was ready. It is dishwasher safe and is always stored in the protective sleeve when not in use.

Great zester

i always wanted a decent zester so i went and got a microplane(supposed to be the best) the blades do not stick up far enough to catch the citrus rind to get good zesting action. have not tried it with hard cheese but i suspect the results would be the same.

product arrived broken, material is extremely thin and not well made. The handle is more durable but the frame around the blade is not made of quality material.
