An absolute steal when on sale

DJS February 22, 2022

Surface devices have always struck me as overpriced and lagging behind in tech features versus other Windows 2-in-1s, not to mention Android or iOS tablets. I would never have considered this device were it not deeply discounted. I even tried using a Surface Go at one point, and the Pentium chip in it was a huge let-down. This one has been an entirely different experience. The 11th gen i3 has not skipped a beat. Everything is smooth and snappy. I have a big heavy gaming laptop for games and work, but I'm now convinced that this could be my everyday workhorse. Just plug in a USB-C hub at your desk and you're good to go. You could even do a little casual gaming here - despite some confusion in the product info, this does have the new Iris Xe graphics (confirmed in Device Manager), not the useless old Intel HD stuff. The display is crisp and bright. It may not be 120 Hz or OLED, but you won't feel like you're missing much once you start using it. This version also has a replaceable SSD in case you find yourself running low on space. The Surface Pen (not included but can be found affordably as open-box or refurb) is also a top-notch writing experience. The iPad has definitely caught up in recent years software-wise, but the Surface pen just feels so much better touching and moving across the screen, and the eraser tip on the other end is a nice touch. OneNote is still king for free note-taking apps. I always enjoyed Windows 10 well enough, and I'll miss the live tiles, but 11 really does bring a lot of nice little changes for touch-based use. The new widgets are probably more useful than the live tiles anyway. You'll probably find everything you need comes with Windows or is available in the Windows Store at this point, but if not, Windows 11 now supports Android apps, so once the Amazon app store is fully populated you'll have options there in case something you love on your phone isn't available for Windows. You also get the full flexibility of installing whatever you need from the massive amount of Windows software out there. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even install the Google Play store. I hate to say it, but I think Microsoft has me convinced, and I might stick around for awhile. Between the integration with Android phones, the built-in Android app support, Windows Ink, Microsoft 365, and all the flexibility and legacy of Windows software, I finally feel like I have an alternative to being locked in to Apple where I'm not missing out, both for personal and professional use. If, like me, you grew up using Microsoft software, but were drawn away as they fell behind Apple and Google in the mobile-first era, I think you'll find enough to love here to come back and give them another shot.

BEST VALUE FOR A SURFACE PRO 7

GLT February 13, 2022

As of Feb 2022 ... This is the best value of any Surface PRO at half the price of the Surface PRO 8 .... This 7 includes a free keyboard, fanless configuration, removable HD, allows for a SIM card, phenomenal display loaded with the latest Windows 11. Enjoy!!!

Very satisfied with the Surface Pro 7 .

Ken February 14, 2022

I am really happy with the Surface Pro 7 . The price was very reasonable, especially considering you get the keyboard cover included. The kickstand versus normal laptop design is a bit strange to get used to but it works great as a tablet and doesn't require a fully operating hinge. The performance is very snappy, even with just 8GB of ram. It multitasks very well and even runs a few of my older games smoothly. I would recommend to friends and family.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 purchase

Michael January 25, 2022

This is a very good price for this product. While it is the slower I3 I do not plan to use it for games so there are no issues. Windows 11 preloaded and the keyboard really works well.

Just what I expected

Tony December 19, 2021

Meets all Expectations...Not happy with how One Drive takes over and stores files without requesting to do so. Try to shut it off, but it turns itself back on. Like USB-C features...bought an aftermarket hub.

DOES NOT INCLUDE PEN OR MOUSE

Mari January 21, 2022

Because the pictures included the pen and mouse I assumed they would be included. I contacted Walmart support to be sure and they said they would be included. However, when I received the bundle it includes only the Surface Pro and keyboard.

Great deal! Buy with confidence!

Ben February 9, 2022

I was really concerned about the dual core i3 processor's performance but being such a good deal I ordered it anyway. Turns out there's no need to worry. This thing performs admirably! I only removed one star for the 128GB drive which is too small for a Windows computer these days. You can however add a sizeable micro SD card to make up for that. Go ahead and order this thing already!

The screen based keyboard can be better. It's good though. This is not a mere tablet. It is a PC - thru and thru. Remarkably good

Black Screen Problem

Lesly May 17, 2023

It was amazing the first month then every time I would charge it, it would go to a black screen with the windows logo. I would hard reset it until finally one day nothing worked and now it's just on the windows logo and wont even turn off. Just infinite sleep mode. When looking up this problem and how to fix it, I realized this happens a lot to a lot of people. Is it worth buying? Probably not.
