Works great when it's working but has trouble kicking the compressor on. My only other complaint is high is really cold but if you try and turn it down it's too warm there is no in between.
I have a different Midea model that cools more efficiently than this one. Note, both models are rather loud in use. The box when it arrived was rather damaged so it may be that the inner machinery has an issue. Reccomend opting for the 12K BTU model.
You get what you pay for, and this is cheap, so don't expect much. Fan only runs one speed, despite the Lo/Hi settings, and it is VERY NOISY. But, in a pinch while my mini split went down, it's keeping our bedroom cool (sorta). Don't plan on it cooling a big room, it's not made for it. States it will cool 500 sq ft, NO, barely cools 120 sq ft. and my home is super insulated.
This ac does not cool the room like an AC should It feels like a fan. I am really unhappy with my purchase I've had the ac going for over five hours now in my room is yet to cool down I'm really unhappy and the ac is fully installed and I really don't feel like putting it back together to return it. But I might just have to this AC is Horrible
This air conditioner is a waste of money. Noisy. Doesnt push enough air unless the room is already cool or outside temp is 75 or less at which point a fan works fine. Will be returning. Midea makes great products but this is not one of them. The controls require you to turn it off manually which is fine but it doesnt get the room cool enough to turn off automatically therefore it runs constantly.
Unit started smelling weird after a while and my allergies started to worsen as well as a sinus infection. I also started to get a headache which I rarely do. Suspecting mold I opened up the unit and there was water pooling in the back! Hard to believe since it's been about 100F everyday for the past month and I live in a dry heat area. There's no drain for the water so it just sits there even with the unit tilted back. This appears to be a flawed design. I'm not sure how it hasn't been recalled . If I'm missing something someone let me know. I'm looking to just drill holes in the back/bottom for drainage but I see water in the front too so might have to just scrap it. Be careful out there folks.
The sliding frame ripped in half as soon as I attempted to attach it to the unit. I tried to attach the second sliding frame, and that also ripped. Don't recommend.
This is basically a rectangle fan that you put in your window. We have a very small bedroom and it doesn't keep our room any cooler than a regular window fan does. Very unimpressed with the power and coldness of this. And of course we bought it at the end of season last year so hardly used it and now we can't return it and it's a big $150 waste of money.
air conditioner is very good on the noise scale. It is also good on the cooling process. here is the issue. mold almost immediately started to develop in and around the air conditioner. it also pulls water out the back. I would expect that from an older air conditioner, but I bought this one brand new The water that is coming out of the air conditioner is turning my porch green. mold can be plainly seen around the air conditioner.
The expanding side panels are poorly designed and unworkable on a traditional double hung window. The design of the "lip" which should lock into the window's lower sash channel and behind the inner rail (which is sometimes called the "stop") will not fit without building out the rail. For this reason, you cannot make the side panels airtight without some carpentry. In 45 years of installing window air conditioners, I have not witnessed this issue. The expanding side panel might work well with a replacement vinyl or aluminum window, but it will not work on a traditional double hung wood window. In addition, I found the expanding side panels are cheaply made.
