A great little window unit. Even leaving the bedroom door open it keeps my bedroom cold as a refrigerator, even on eco mode. Makes for great sleep. The price wasn’t bad at all either. Installing it was pretty simple (once my bf read the instructions) 😂 all in all it’s everything I could have needed. Also, our utility bill hasn’t skyrocketed.

First off let me address some of the reasons why I see people leaving one star. Having it come broken is not a reason to give this one star, has nothing to do with the performance. Saying it doesn't cool your area is not a reason to give it one star, it could be too small for the area provided, you could have the energy saver option on. I also saw ridiculous things like one stars because the buttons are too noisy at night with a blue light LED is too bright.. This is a wonderful unit, however this unit is not meant to cool off an entire house. I have a fairly large bedroom and I have been sleeping like a little baby. It was easy to install, not very heavy and while of course it makes noise it's not the loudest air conditioner I've ever had. The compressor isn't overly noisy so you don't hear that refrigerator sound. This unit is one of my favorite air conditioners I've ever used. I've never had a problem with it turning off or on because I don't have energy saver turned on. If you're looking for an affordable air conditioner that's easy to use it gets my highest recommendations. I don't use the remote at all because it has the function of adjusting the temperature to where the remote is and that technology I feel could cause me problems. It's not a feature I need. I don't find it strenuous to walk over to the air conditioner and use it. A

The air conditioner works but the pictures of the item show that it is smart controlled through wifi and it is not. We did not know this until putting it together and in the window.

It is always in n Eco mode and shuts down way too often. The room temp is never consistent due to shutting down when it gets to temp then the room heats back up before it clicks back on. Annoyingly loud and inconsistent noise for a bedroom.

It's a nice air conditioner, however it doesn't go down to 60 degrees like all my other air conditioners. It also doesn't cool my room as well as it should. My bedroom is not a large space at all, so there should be no reason it isn't cooling the room down to the temp that I like it. I do like the color of the air conditioner though. I think black looks way better than white. I also love the convenient remote control that comes with it. And it has an option to turn off the led lights on the control pad so it doesn't bother you at night, which i thought was pretty cool

The machine works as it was designed, but there's a couple things I don't like about it. 1st thing is the blue lighting that's used. Blue light is high intensity. It lights up my room at night and I don't like that. I'd rather they used red lights on the console instead. 2nd thing is once the thermostat temperature is reached, the fan shuts off after a few seconds. I wish the fan would stay on a lot longer and only the compressor would shut off. Another thing is It's not the quietest machine but it runs fairly quiet at low speed. The only window A/C unit that ran quieter was the one by LG. The remote works fine.

this is the worst window ac I have owned in thirty years. No matter what mode this is on it turns completely off every ten or so minutes - I thought initially it must be in energy saver mode or eco mode or on auto but it wasn't … even when it would run for ten minutes at a time it never blew very cool air. The display screen is VERY bright so if you like sleeping in a dark room, forget it . The ac and the remote never seemed to sinc with their respective displays - Some ac's have compressor sounds that go on and off but if the unit is on and not on auto the fan keeps blowing between cycles- this does not do that - and it was not inexpensive . I will never buy a Midea product again

I received the A/C, and I opened the remote control, which was missing. I called Walmart 4 times asking them to send me another remote control. The first agent said she was sending the remote control. She gave me a reference number and said it would take up to 24 hrs to ship. I called again and the next agent said I had the same thing. I called again and the next agent said they could not send a remote control. The next agent I call said they would refund the total amount for of the A/C for my troubles and gave me a reference number. I am still waiting for the refund to my account.

This was such a waste of money. It doesn't blow cold air and it won't stay on. It has auto, cool, dry, and fan settings. Which is why we picked it. It was 90 degrees yesterday so we set it to cool, and lowered the temperature. It behaved like it was set to auto and had reached the set temperature, and shut down. We turned it to the lowest possible setting 62°, hoping it would stay on because there was no way it actually cooled to 62°. It still shut itself down after some time. We did this over and over again, all day and when the heat woke us up last night. We have an older unit with manual controls, also 5000 btu, that blows much colder than this new unit. Thankfully, it works well enough that it kept the house cool. Unfortunately, now we have a waste of money sitting in the window, doing nothing to ease the heat this summer. Don't make the same mistake we did.

I replaced my 5,000 btu perfect aire (fairly cheap) model window AC in my bedroom in hopes that my bedroom would be even cooler and, with the door open and a fan positioned, coolness would also extend to my bathroom just outside of my bedroom. This 8,000 BTU has been a HUGE disappointment as I find myself sweating at night and it doesn’t do even HALF as well as my cheap 5,000 BTU unit did. I regret this purchase and, of course, when I finally got it unpacked, installed and found out it was a failure, I had missed their “return/refund” window by 3 days. DONT BUY! ITS A LOSER!
