Miitopia™- Nintendo Switch [Digital]

I love Miitopia, it totally blew my expectations out of the water. I'm 25 hours in and done with the official story, but there's still tons of end-game content to be done. The game looks simple and like you've played it all in the first few hours, but just when things start to feel a tad stale, tons of new gameplay features are added. I highly recommend, one of my favorite RPGs to date.

I was a big fan of Tomodachi Life on the 3DS, but never got around to playing the original release of Miitopia. I came into the remake expecting somewhat of a similar experience. Honestly, this game has been a disappointment. The presentation and music design are on point and the expanded Mii customization options are fantastic. It's the lack of depth in the mechanical areas of the game that drag it down. The RPG combat is very basic and absurdly easy. Even with 4/4 of my party members in auto-battle mode, I'm rarely ever threatened by enemies. Minibosses present a minimal challenge. Most of my gameplay is just holding the "fast forward" button through encounters. Likewise, the interactions between the Miis - which I would consider the main selling point of this game - are too shallow. Each Mii in your party can level-up their "relationship" with the others, granting chances for additional combos and tactics in combat. There's not really anymore to it than that though. There's a very small handful of recycled interactions that quickly grow stale after the 2nd or 3rd repeat. Miis lack any depth of personality or uniqueness. In summary, there's some good bones here and at times the game can be amusing, especially if you enjoy the goofiness of pairing unlikely characters together. I don't hate it. I think it's dramatically overpriced at $50. I'd say this has been an experience I'd pay $20 or maybe $30 for.

Fun Game……but not sure how appropriate the hyper sprinkles are. I love this game, it's fun and funny. But at a certain point you get ‘hyper sprinkles' which seem like a total drug reference, the characters eyes get huge and they start snorting steam out of their noses and are out of control until it wears off. If that wasn't in the game it would be much better for kids.

Sellers using Walmart's platform really NEED to disclose if these switch games are a world edition or NTC North American. I DESPISE that dreadful green seal on the back. Will be returned.
