I can't believe how much I got! I think I only paid like 8 dollars for this. I thought I was getting a four lb bag (I didn't read the description well). It is 42 LITERS. I ended up having to give like half the bag away to a neighbor. My plants (some flowering plants) really appear to love it, because they're green and growing well - indoors and out. I'm glad I bought this.
I've never had a raised garden bed until this year. I bought this to top off twigs and dead leaves in the bed. I then planted my tomatoes and peppers. Along with marigolds at the moment. They're doing very well! This is the first time I've used a raised bed. 5 STARS
Seeds sprouted in record time and look great. But, and I know everyone will be rolling theirs eyes and snorting, it has worms in it. I know everyone loves that but it's an issue for me. Just in case I'm not the only one in the whole world, I'm mentioning it.
I can't say how well it works yet but I can definitely say it's NOT soil. This is nothing but shredded bark. I would expect some bark in a soil mix but this is nothing but wood. It would be great if marketed as a mulch. Either way I wanted soil not mulch and would have purchased something else had I know.
The product is fantastic but what I received was not. A lot of moldy mix in the bag. Not a happy camper since I just got out of the hospital two weeks ago from bronchitis. I immediately put a mask on as I observed moldy dust emitting from a lot of the clumps of soil. Not good. I'm assuming that these bags had been on the shelf from last year and the moisture that was in the bags dried up with mold. Bad experience.
I decided this year to pay a little extra and get brand name “organic” soil for my raised garden beds. This however had multiple chunks of plastic and even a little piece of glass in one bag. I bought multiple bags and each had plastic mixed in with the soil. Not sure how “organic” it can be considered…
I ordered miracle grow raised bed soil. when I opened it, it was hard as rock all dried out gray with white mold dust. plus it had red and yellow on half of it. had to throw away. I wouldn't put my veggies in it
This is not soil. Do not buy it for that reason. It does not retain moisture. Water runs directly through it, and it remains completely dry. If there is anything beneficial to plants in it, they will never be able to use it, because it will never disolve. Read the ingredients: a bunch of waste products. For the same results, crush styrofoam and save much money. Shame on you Miracle-Gro.
This "organic" soil is riddled with plastic and glass. It should be illegal to sell a product like this advertised as organic and good to use for a garden. Everytime it rains i find more and more.
Horrible quality. This soil was delivered to me today by Walmart. The smell of mold was overwhelming while the bag was completely sealed shut. I will have to go through the trouble of returning it. Also it arrived late, but that has no impact on quality.
