Item must be installed per instructions, especially if being applied with an adhesive. It is VERY HEAVY. Also when completing part 2 of the installation, when adhering the magnet to the back piece....WATCH YOUR FINGERS!!! Mine now have injuries because I was not careful . The magnet is so strong it snaps right onto the back part on the wall and takes bits of your fingers with it if you are not careful

The hardest part about the installation was separating the back plate from the strip, even with the plastic tabs, because the magnet is quite strong (either that or I'm weak). I did not use the screws provided as they were long and I was installing them on the side of a cupboard rather than a wall, so I used some shorter screws. It looks nice and holds the knives more securely than did the old one.

Details say there is an instruction sheet for mounting...missing. It also says if you don't want to mount it on the walls, just stick it to the fridge...the magnet is too weak and it slides down the fridge. Like the concept of putting it on the fridge, just needs a stronger magnet to hold it in place.
