I've been needing this for a long time. Finally sat down and reviewed purchase options across my threevfav sites (WM, AM, HD). WM beat the others by $5 . We're using this to replace a 30-year-old brass splitter with two very small plastic turn levers. It's a miracle the little levers haven't broken over all these years. the spigot is located in a awkward position that requires reaching through a wire panel structure to reach them. plus, being so small, they're just darn difficult to turn. Comparatively, these splitter handles are bigger and so much easier to turn! It's a universal fitting, so it should fit any standard garden hoses attached.
.The important details are all brass and heavy duty. The four valve actuators used to turn the water on and off are all brass. That means that the valve actuator handles are made of a material that will withstand considerable force when the ball valve is sluggish or actually stuck after a long period of disuse. In actual use, overwinter, the ball valves on a less expensive 4 way bib required considerable force to open. The force required to open the valve and turn on the water was greater than the plastic actuator handles and pot metal parts could withstand. Failure of all four was the result. The ball valves in the Morvat operate smoothly and the brass actuator works very satisfactorily to turn the water on and off.
This is an all metal hose splitter with no plastic parts. I applied the Teflon tape, tightened it down, turned the water on and as you would expect from a quality product it was sealed with no leaks or drips. The splitter is well worth the money even without the teflon tape or extra washer that was included.
Works good once you get the valves loosened, at I thought I was going to have to send it back because the valves would not move using my fingers, I used some pliers to break them loose and then it was usable.
Although a cost is higher than other brands. This is high quality brass construction with a brass ball valve. Not cheap plastic materials. You'll lose it before it fails/breaks.
Overall, they appear well made, and so far, they've performed as expected. Moreover, I have not noticed any hard water accumulation, especially on the levers that open and close the split valves, after about a year of use. In fact, that might be the best feature compared to other splitters. In the past, the splitters contained tiny valve levers that made it quite difficult to open and close valves. Over time, the levers became more and more difficult to open and close because of solidified hard water accumulation, to the point that the levers would eventually break. I would purchase this product again.
My only question when ordering this was whether the small valves were plastic or metal. I was tired of buying new, cheap splitters only to have the plastic valves break. I was pleased to see these are made of the same alloy as the body. Good quality for the price.
put it on immediately zero leaks eazy to use I like it have needed it for a long time.should last
Love the long handles versus the short plastic ones
I really wanted to like this product - it checked all of the boxes. Solid brass, large levers for turning on %26 off, ball valves to prevent leaks. The kit included four washers and thread tape. What I didn't count on was a defective product. It had a leak just below the male threads that couldn't be stopped with either the provided washers or the thread tape. In defense of the company, I did not try to return the connector. I waited several days for its delivery and couldn't wait several more days for resolution of the problem; I needed something right away. I went to Home Depot and purchased a much cheaper, but functional, connector.
