Motorcraft Oil Filter FL2016W

I have used this filter for many years which I was purchasing from the Ford Dealer at x amount of dollars. I started looking online and desided to purchase it through Walmart for a lot less money it came in two days. I will purchase it again through this vender.

Oil gallons came in without the foil seals that are always on gallons that are bought locally. Without that seal any oil could be added into a used gallon container. For a diesel truck it is important to have the correct oil, without worrying if I been duped. I won't buy this way again not to have a problem with the oil.

100% fake. The box is different, the way the filter is wrapped with the seal isn't how it comes from motorcraft. The correct oem filter comes with instructions and the seal together. The filter itself should come with markings of the manufacturing date that match the manufacturing date sticker on the box. this one is blank. Do not buy or use this item. Real filter is the one with the sticker on the box, markings on the filter, and instructions with seal together, filter should not be wrapped in plastic like the fake one sold here

Have it next to the one I pulled out my truck and they both look the same. But did notice the box was smaller from other ones I have order. Comparing both when installing the one that I pulled out slides in easy. The new does not slide in easy but gets stuck.

The filter I got in the Motorcraft box was a Chinese knock off if you buy this filter and the O-ring is shrink wrapped to the filter. Do not use it. It is not a genuine Motorcraft product. I had to take the filter out and replace it with the correct Motorcraft filter that has made in Usa written on it.

This filter could have killed my truck. If I hadn't seen the oil on the road in my mirror and parked on a dry surface we would be having a different conversation. After driving 60 miles and replacing 10 quarts of expensive synthetic oil we finally figured out why oil was dripping everywhere. The plug was tight. We left a steady stream of oil on the highway. Other people online had the same problem. It quit leaking that expensive oil as soon as I replaced the filter. tThe gasket was split and I understand oil wasn't flowing through the filter like it should. We basically flushed the motor with expensive synthetic oil. Changed the filter again, refilled with 2 1/2 gallons of oil and everything is right again. DO NOT BUY THIS FILTER UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO RISK YOUR VEHICLE!!!

Not genuine Motorcraft. The o-ring was significant too big and the filter is slightly shorter than the one I took out of the truck (genuine Motocraft purchased through a dealer) and a Motorcraft filter purchased from a parts store.

Fairly certain these are not oem Motorcraft. The top "fingers" are spaced way too small and do not snap into the cap. I bought 2 of these to keep an extra on hand. I will be returning one. I was in the middle of an oil change and had to use one of them until I can get a true oem filter. They come in a "Motorcraft" branded box, but I think it's counterfeit also. Getting pretty tired of Walmart and Amazon letting this counterfeit stuff get sold here.
