Perfect in every way...however...1 lb. propane canisters get VERY expensive ($4 to $5 each) and only last a few hours...even on low setting. I can get my 20 lb. BBQ grill tank filled at BJ's Wholesale Club for only $12. That's equal to $100 worth of the small, 1 lb. canisters. BUY the adaptet hose to hook your standard BBQ grill tank to the heater. Works perfectly and will save to a lot of money.
Excellent Mr. Heater Buddy, I love it! Heats the designed area beautifully, controls the range of heat, it's portable, doesn't take much space, quality and value is outstanding, It's worth every cent. Never leave product unsupervised . Have recommended to family and friends. Have no regrets, am very happy with my Mr. Buddy Heater. Enjoy your product and stay warm. Kudos to all!
These are perfect heaters for camping. I highly recommend using a fuel filter if you plan on using a hose with a larger tank. Those hoses have oil in them that will clog your heater orifice over time. Such a pain to clean the lines out if that happens. Buy the filter annual to avoid this.
With its oxygen depletion sensor and tip over senser this model is a super safe choice. Used this model all winter last year in a tent with plastic wrapped on the outside and inside temp stayed over 70. Make sure to leave vent point and use charcoal hung up to obsorbe moisture build up. Was able to run on low setting for 4 to 5 continuous days/nights on a 20lbs tank of propane.
I have three other Buddy heaters of different sizes. Two are too large for tent camping. One is too small. This size is perfect. I have used these heaters due to the safety features for outdoor/indoor useage. We also experience power outages in our area, at least, once a year during the single digit and sub-zero temperatures. We use the bigger heaters for the main portion of the house and will now use this heater for the bedroom during those emergency situations. The delivery was fast and the driver was professional.
My third little buddy heater my first one needs a part so I’ll replace and use in the garage. I’ve been using two in the house for two hours each winter morning it cuts my oil bill in half. They last a long time on medium heat 40hours. If yours won’t stay lite just turn it upside down and give a light tap the tip over switch is touchy which I guess is a good thing 👍
I’ve got one that’s 15 years old, occasionally it will just go out but always relights, the operation of the thermocouple seems inconsistent but it has never failed as backup heating for my house. I bought this new one for my camper and it’s excellent, pilot stabilizes easily and heater lights quickly, infrared with no fan is the only way IMHO .
Heater is great for small rooms and tents only wished it had a medium heat setting. Only has low/high but does well so far. And with thepropane bottles and fuel costs it would be noce if it could produce a few more hours per bottle! I do however recommend it and i am very satisfied with mine.
I purchased based on box claiming it was indoor safe yet the instructions and warnings state otherwise. Specifically calling out not safe for indoor use. I rreturned to store unused so I can not comment on the heater performance
Be sure to do your first test outdoors .First time I used it My Buddy Heaters pilot light started acting like a blow torch and I heard a click and the thing burst into flames six inches high coming out of the vents in the top. I had to grab a blanket and throw over it for about 15 seconds and pulled it off and it was still burning so I threw the blanket back in and wrapped my arms around it and hugged it heart racing. It finally went out. Must have had a defective regulator
