It's a commercial spice blend designed to make sweet pickles, usually containing a mix of mustard seeds, coriander, celery seed, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, and sometimes ginger. The flavor profile is warm, aromatic, and a little tangy-spicy to balance the sugar and vinegar used in sweet pickle brines. Pros: • Convenient—no need to buy each spice separately. • Gives a classic, old-fashioned sweet pickle flavor. • Works well for cucumbers, green tomatoes, or mixed vegetables. Cons: • Can be a bit strong if overused. • Pre-mixed ratios mean you can't tweak flavors much. • Not great if you prefer dill or savory-style pickles. If you like sweet, tangy pickles with a hint of spice and cinnamon warmth, this mix will likely hit the spot. If you're more into crisp, garlicky dill pickles, it's probably not your jar of brine.
these pickles are sweet and the recipe is spot on as you would expect candied pickles. the recipe is a slam dunk.
Mrs. Wages is the best of all the add-ins for pickles, salsa, chili, and many more. They need to create a pickled jalapeno addition next!!! LOL
I love the spice mix, the ease of use, and the great taste of Mrs. Wages. The only mix i will use.
This mix is my family favorite. Great on sandwiches.
good recipe for cucumbers a good crisp pickle
fast and easy to do
pickles were mushy, but I might have done something wrong.
I mixed this up but the brine tasted HORRIBLE. I followed the directions, there was no way I was going to waste 10lbs of pickles with this!! Do not recommend.
