I love Murphy Oil for my hardwood floors. I add it to my floor cleaner and it conditions my floors with a little bit of shine. Having 2 grandbabies, 2 years old and 10 months old, and 4 large dogs in the house puts a lot of west and tear on my hardwood floors. I clean them 2-3 times a day. Murphy Oil isn't harsh and doesn't strip anything but dirt off my floors.
Murphy's Oil Soap is one of the best values. I use it for so much. Because I paint with acrylics, have hardwood floors and paint indoors not only does Murphy's clean any drops, it cleans acrylic paint off my floors and furniture, it completely cleans and conditions my brushes; even the ones that are so dried with caked paint better than anything else I've ever tried. But even better when I get inspired and (is "idiotically" a word?) regardless, when I get inspired while in a nice shirt and I'm "just going to paint a couple strokes" I use Murphy's Oil Soap to get all the paint out of my clothes and bedsheets 3 days later. No stains left anywhere! AND everything is left clean, conditioned. OH and zero allergies and I'm super allergic to sooo much stuff. I swear by Murphy's Oil Soap. and a huge concentrated bottle for under $4? Thank you thank you, thank you!
Heavy duty cleaning required prior to listing my house for sale. I was hoping for fewer streaks but overall cleaned all my cabinet doors of grease and dust. Very familiar smell and mixing was easy, just needed more effort than I remembered to clear streaking after dry time.
I'm not really sure why this product has such high reviews. It didn't really clean my sticky handrails (painted wood) and there are so many people saying it either works or doesn't work. It's extremely confusing as to why there are so many mixed reviews.
Despite labels to the contrary, and appearing as the first result when one searches for Murphy's Oil Soap, this is not Murphy's Oil Soap-nor is it the original recipe. Fix your search algorithms Walmart. Why would I want "concentrated wood cleaner" when I explicitly searched for "Murphy's Oil Soap"?
I am so disappointed & I am totally disgusted with Colgate-Palmolive for changing this multi-generationally TRUSTED product. I bought a new bottle, looking forward to doing our wood floors before fall starts. As soon as I opened the bottle, I knew something was amiss! Well, guess what? This is definitely NOT Murphys Oil Soap now. This reformulatikn is a sham & you are effectively bait&switching anyone who buys this product, thinking/trusting that it is WHAT we have come to know a d use to clean & refresh. NOW, each consumer has to figure out HOW to correct the mess this crap creates AND find so things else to use to do the job we had purchased Murphys to do in the first place. THANK YOU so much for further complicating my Life now, instead of BEING the time tested and go-to used product this was. I WOULD strongly suggest that you bring back the previous product and regain ALL THE CUSTOMERS you have duped & offended. Shame on all of you at Colgate-Palmolive company--- you can bet that I will not be using ANY of your (other) toothpastes nor your dish soap because I do not trust your products now. I will be passing the word to ALL of my friends and family, too. You have offended me THAT much. Regards, from Redhead in Texas.
Soooooo incredibly disappointed with the change in the formula. If zero stars were an option, I would've chosen that. I have used this product for years and years in a variety of ways on floors, wood, and on all my leather products. I didn't realize they had changed the formula until I cleaned my saddle with it and it completely ruined the finish. Dried it out and made it look bleached. Also left my floors, dull, and hazy.So I started looking things up and realized they had changed the formula. No idea why you would change something that worked so amazingly well. Definitely won't buy it again. I hope the company comes to their senses and brings the original, actual original formula back. The labeling is extremely misleading.
How to take a proven and time tested product and ruin it. First of all, it's obviously not the original formula it's been reformulated. The current product is much thinner in consistency. The older product was thicker and had a darker color. Why didn't they just leave it alone?
I agree 100% with LauraN and Jsdj: ie, the Murhpy's oil soap you sell now (for the last few years) is nothing like the old formula. Frankly, you're flat out lying when you make the statement indicating otherwise. It is not at all the same. I've used Murhpy's oil soap for literally 4 decades, for cleaning all of our horses' tack, our boots, and for cleaning all wood surfaces. You used to offer it in a tub, in a thick gel/paste. The liquid back then was good, too. What you are selling now is watery, smells different, and worst of all - it DRIES OUT the leather instead of conditioning it, and dries out the wood, too. If the current owner of the product, Colgate-Palmolive, bought Murphy's Oil Soap brand from the original creator, then C-P needs go back and find the original formula and remove the junk that's on the shelves now. I will not be buying it again, and am alerting our horse owning friends and clients to not use it on their tack or wood. We'd really appreciate you finding and going back to the original formula.... We miss the good old original stuff.
The new product being sold as "original formula" has a very unpleasant and overpowering smell, reminiscent of a public bathroom at a highway rest stop. And it lingers for days. We loved Murphy's for generations for its gentle and natural scent appropriate for domestic use in a beautiful home. So disappointing. Why would they change what works so well? Help!
