More than meets the eye!

Candi August 24, 2020

When this arrived, it was neatly packaged and very easy to put together, with easy to understand directions however even without them, it's easy to figure out. When I first took it out of the box, I was a bit disappointed because the rockets were relatively small compared to what the package made them appear to be but That quickly passed when I saw the smiles and heard the laughter. We waited until night time to try this for the first time so we could see the lights in action and we were pleasantly surprised at how well it worked and how bright the colors were. I am pretty sure it shot well over 100 feet in the air! It quickly turned into a competition among my children on who could shoot it the highest, make it land the furthest or closest to the launch area. They spent a good hour playing with this the first night before I had to pull them away to get ready for bed. This will be a toy that is used by all of my children (10,15,17,21) which I love and it is something they can do at night which is an added bonus. Getting the kids out of the house and moving is important to me and this has them laughing, jumping, running, laughing and spending time together, which makes me one happy momma! We have had this less than a week and it has been out and played with every day since it arrived. It takes a beating and holds up well to it! Super cool toy great for the whole family!

Hours of fun!

SANNGLL August 25, 2020

This National Geographic Nat Geo Light Up Rocket was a great product for my 9 year old son to play and explore with, there was very little assembly required and it was easy for him to follow the instructions and assemble the Rocket base himself. I think this National Geographic is a great way for kids to learn about STEM products and future careers. I will definitely recommend this product to my family and friends.

Rocket is Great Fun for the kids!!

Patooty August 24, 2020

We (my family) are very impressed with the National Geographic Light up Rocket. The kids were so excited when the rockets arrived and could not wait until we all got together after dinner to try them out. The directions were user-friendly and the kids and adults had a ball taking turns with it. The National Geographic Light up Rocket provided a welcome break from the monotony of the shutdown. Our kids, grandkids and great grandkids enjoyed the rockets so much. The excitement was apparent and the screams when it took off were so funny. The National Geographic Light up Rocket was so enjoyable and created hours of fun for everyone. If you want family fun for all, pick up a National Geographic Light up Rocket and you won't be disappointed in the amount of enjoyment you and your kids will have. The National Geographic Light up Rocket is a great product!!

Educational and Fun Light Up Rockets

alienpsychomom August 24, 2020

I am doing a review of the National Geographic Light-Up Air Rocket toy. The National Geographic Society has been around for one hundred and twenty-six years. Their mission is to inspire people to care about our planet. They are one of the world's nonprofit scientific and educational organizations. Toys like this help inspire young minds. I have always supported buying these kinds of toys for my children. It is fun and a learning toy at the same time. My husband and grandkids and even the neighborhood kids have come over to play with this toy. Everyone lines up and takes turns. It includes two rockets. They are made of very thick plastic with a large foam piece on one end and the thin rocket fins on the other ends. The two rockets are very brightly colored too. One is a fiery red and yellow and the other one is blue, pink, purple, and white. To make the rockets even more special they made them so they would light up. At the base of the large black foam that is at the top of the rocket is a small white plastic button. If you want it to light up you just press the button and it stays lit until you press the button again. It comes with a large launch base. It has two cute footprints on it with the little toes. It is really cute. It also comes with a launch tube that is already attached to the base and to the foot pump. You do not have to put anything together. The launch base has three legs. You are supposed to adjust these at different heights to get different effects. There is a yellow tube at the very top of it. It can be taken out to be stored. You place it at the base of it, the base will rotate to your desired angle. You may want your rocket to shoot straight up or at a 90-degree angle. It is up to you. When you adjust it, it will stay in place. It will not move. This toy is made of high-quality materials. It is made to last. Believe me. When you take this outside and play with it you will have a crowd come around to play with it. Oh, I forgot to mention. It does shoot high or far it depends on how you angle it. A book does come with it that teaches your children the science behind it too. I very highly recommend the Light Up Rocket.

Had a lot of fun with this!

Ctrudell August 23, 2020

I'm not surprised we had fun; I AM surprised how simple the fun was with this rocket! We were able to play with it about thirty seconds after we took it out of the box. There are really only four pieces: the two rockets, the yellow tube that goes into the base for the rockets to sit on, and the base itself that is attached to the foot pump. We all took turns jumping on the foot pump, and it held up to even the jumping of a 190lb adult, so I think you'll find it to be fairly durable. We had the button come off of one of the rockets, where you push it to light up, but we were still able to make it light up with the button. Overall, very cool design and we were able to come up with some fun games to play with it!

Tons of fun

Poppop March 3, 2021

This one has been a blast so far. Although the instructions advise against catching a falling rocket, this only added to the fun. My son and grandson had to figure out how much propulsion was need to deliver it to the catcher without casing them to dive to make the catch.

Simple & Safe to Use

SpkRevr2020 August 22, 2020

This can be played with straight out of the box, as there is nothing to put together. Just place the foam rocket at the top of the stand, step on the foot pedal, and you're good to go. It is so simple to use, safe and lightweight. Once my 7 year old shot the rockets up in the air a dozen times, he created new challenges, like "shoot the rocket into the basket," etc. This is a lot simpler of a toy than I expected. Being that it's foam and can easily break or tear, I do think the retail price is a little bit high, but overall, this keeps them learning, experimenting, and having fun! The lights on the rockets are cool and the set comes with an educational pamphlet about rockets, which is a nice touch.

To Infinity and Beyond!

Waggs181 August 24, 2020

My wife & I wanted to get our kids a little surprise for the park. When they saw us pull out the box for the National Geographic Light Up Air Rockets they were ecstatic. My kid's ages are 4 years old & 6 years old. They played at least for an hour straight taking turns firing off the rockets. They would shoot them straight up in the air so that the rockets would come back down at them and would try to catch them. Then they would see who could fire them the furthest distance wise away from the base. Then it was my turn to really launch the rockets far for them to go chase after. I would say the minimum age would be 4 and probably around 40 pounds. This way the kids have enough force to launch the rocket a little bit away from themselves. The rockets have a push button on them to turn the light on and off. We will still have to try them when it is really dark out to get the full effect. Overall, the rocket launcher met my expectations. I removed one star due to the fact that you have be careful with the launch base as the leg seem a little fragile.
