No longer espresso

Jo66 January 8, 2022

I've been drinking espresso instant for years but you've changed it. It no longer has a crema - initially it foams but then goes completely flat. Just like a normal gold blend. The taste has changed too. I used to make it for friends who said it was as good as a barista flat white. Now it's more like a very average filter coffee. I'm so disappointed. Please return to the original.

Definite change

G Sue September 9, 2021

I happened to mention to my son that I thought this coffee had changed to a much less flavoursome coffee. I think now it is just a “run of the mill” and that the crema was much less noticeable. Without hesitation he said, “ thank god you said that”. It transpired that for the last few weeks his wife had been complaining about the poor taste of her espresso despite the same amount of coffee being used every time. Whatever you have done, please change it back. Not sure it is now worth the extra.

BROKEN JAR IN SHIPMENT, BUT COFFEE WAS GOOD

gerald October 12, 2020

Coffe is good, I bought two jars. But one of the jars was broken. I emailed back to the company, but got no response. I would like a replacement for the broken bottle. But one jar came through and the COFFEE IS GOOD.

New Packaging, New Flavour = not for me !

Very disappointed November 25, 2017

Disappointed to find that the new, presumably cheaper, packaging was accompanied by a new 'cheaper' recipe as well - that unfortunately is in no way as good as the original. I've always found the 'original' product to be a superb Espresso product, that I've used almost exclusively for the past 2 - 3 years at least. The new recipe however is very poor in comparison. Net result = instead of ca. 1 - 2 jars a week, I shall now be buying a different product, and brand. So disappointed - this is actually the only product review I have ever written for any coffee !

Theyve changed the packaging and the coffe!

sstrong November 16, 2017

i loved this coffee thought it was better than any other costa or takeaway coffee, but....... They've now changed the packaging and for some reason the coffee also. It is not as strong now, before I used 1.5ish heaped spoons in a mug, now I am having to put 3 spoons in the get the same depth and flavour. I'm not happy at all as this in turn means I have to purchase more - not happy at all nescafe change it back, now its just a weak pathetic coffee that is quite tasteless on a normal spoon full. Could Nescafe please respond as to why they have done this

Not as good as it used to be

DanH October 11, 2020

Hi I have been drinking and enjoying Nescafé Gold Espresso for years now, but have recently noticed that the taste has changed considerably. It no longer has a smooth flavour and now leaves a bitter after taste. I used to drink 4 – 5 cups a day because I enjoyed the taste so much, I now can't take any more than one at breakfast with something soon after to take the after taste away. I've also noticed that it's lost its unique crema too. Has the formulation been changed to include robusta coffee beans?

What has happened to this coffee????

Valsta July 23, 2021

This is not the same Nescafe Espresso, why has it been changed? It is not as strong & full flavoured and the creme on the top disappears in seconds. The main reason for buying the original product was for it's strong full flavour and the lovely creme on the top that used to last until the end, the next best thing to fresh percolated coffee. It now looks & tastes like a basic cheap instant coffee!! Please bring back the old recipe!!

Previously addicted top consumer

Deeg October 14, 2021

There is no way this is the same coffee. I have been drinking this since it came out and buy numerous jars at a time, recommending to all. Everyone would ask what coffee it was when I nade them a cup. It's now dark but ‘thin' and watery looking, no crema and bitter. Actually quite nasty tbh and I'm devastated. I thought it was a random jar but unfortunately it's not. I am coffee mad and strongly dispute nothing has changed. It's just not true. I would rather pay a bit more for the same but can no longer buy it as it is because it is a completely different experience. Help I now need to find an alternative. Such a shame. Do something!!!!

Bitter and no Velvety Crema in sight

SaFor June 6, 2020

My husband and I have been drinking this blend for years (3-4 cups a day!). Loved the smooth taste and the velvety crema on the top. Over the past few months we have started to notice that the coffee now leaves a bitter aftertaste and is flat (no velvety crema). Very disappointing, we complained about 2 months ago and were assured that nothing had changed and that the batch we had received must have been the issue. But we have bought several more batches since then and the coffee is definitely no longer the same.

What have you done to Espresso!

Foxy 48 March 9, 2021

Having bought and enjoyed this brand for years,I am amazed at how you have changed it to a most unpleasant tasting drink. Surely you have coffee tasters to evaluate a new clearly different/altered blend. It beggars belief that you can expect your consumers not to notice a difference. I like ALL the other people who have written in will surely look elsewhere for an alternative.
