this is a lot better than the "Foodsaver" brand 8 bought at Sam's club. (I took the Foodsaver back.) This Nesco is well built, easy to use, and it seals all my packages. I like the fact that it gives a "double seal" on every bag. The only negative and it's more nit picking them a negative is that you can't put a big roll for the baggies inside the sealer, they have to be small

this is our first vacuum sealer machine and we love it! very easy to use. replacement bags or rolls whatever you choose are not expensive. well worth buying because your food will last a lot longer in the freezer. you can label the packages before you put them in the freezer so you know what everything is and the date they were stored. we are now buying in bulk because the food won't get freezer burn!

I've been using Foodsaver products since they first came out but when my last one gave out I saw their most recent products had mixed reviews so we decided to look around. I have used this Nesco many times over the last month and it's working great! No signs of freezer burn starting on any items in the freezer thanks to the double seal, I can use any brand bags, and it's very easy to use. It's a little bigger than the two Foodsavers I've had before but I have no problem storing it on a shelf in one of my kitchen cabinets and taking it out as needed. No liquid has entered the chamber yet so I haven't had to remove the tray that collects liquid to clean yet. I tried the accessory ports in years past but I never use them, just the bags. My only disappointment is that the directions say to wait two minutes before sealing additional bags so when I food prep, i use those moments to clean up instead. Still highly recommend.

We recently picked this up for bulk meat buys and long-term freezing, and so far, it has been a workhorse. My wife has put it through its paces already, and the performance is undeniably better than the cheaper units we've used in the past. The Pros: The Double Seal is a Game-Changer: Having that extra line of defense is huge, especially for meat that might have a bit of moisture. We haven't had a single seal fail yet. Serious Suction: You can tell it has a dual pump. It pulls air out fast and tight, which is exactly what you want for sous vide or long-term freezer storage. Built Like a Tank: It has a much more "industrial" feel than most consumer sealers. It doesn't feel like it's going to overheat after three bags. The Cons (The "Picky" Part): The Bag Cutter Routing: This is the only real design tweak I'd suggest. Routing the bags through the cutter is a bit clunky and takes a second to get right every time. It's not a dealbreaker, but for a machine that is so well-designed otherwise, this part feels like it could be a little more intuitive or "smooth." Try it out on a stuffed animal for a fun time with the kids :)

Have found this product to be very beneficial. Have been able to divide meats into smaller portions, works well to seal homemade spaghetti sauce. Purchased dog Bones, opened the package, used manual reseal. Used to reseal beef jerky packets purchased at local butcher shop.

We watched America's Test Kitchen test and rate vacuum sealers and they rated this one the best. It's not heavy but does take a little space so I will store it when not in use. It's easy to use and has a very powerful vacuum, so produces a tight seal. The first vacuum sealer I bought was small. It was harder to use because you had to really press hard to get even a decent seal, then I always had to do a second seal. This Nesco Vacuum Sealer is worth the price.

Using a vacuum sealer is never easy but this one with the hinged cover is head and shoulders above the less expensive models in both ease of use and quality of seal. I am still getting adjusted to it but am very happy with my purchase. I previously had a highly recommended unit that was at the roughly $60.00 price point. NO COMPARASION!

For the dry goods it is great, it works quickly and efficiently. The wet food I have put up namely the green beans so far, it does not do too well. I find I have had to hit the seal button again as it is not quite sealing all of the way. I am not sure if I would purchase it again to be honest due ONLY to this aspect of it. I need one for putting up a large garden of food and while this is quieter than my Food saver one I find the Food Saver one did a better job with the putting up of wet foods.

I bought this sealer, because description said it had a dual chamber and you should be able to use it longer without having to take a break and let it cool off. This is not true. After using about ten times it became hot and didn't work well and I had to wait and let it cool down. It worked well besides it getting hot.

I'm not sure why this was so highly rated. I went with ratings and did a lot of research before I purchased. But the vaccuum doesn't last. I sealed some steaks and the following morning several of them were no longer vacuumed. I used as directed and when I placed them in the refrigerator they were sealed perfectly but lost vaccuum overnight. Not to mention several bags not having any vaccuum what so ever (which is costly to go through several bags at once). I wish ziplock still had their manual vaccuum bags. Not worth the money. I've reached out to the manufacturer for a refund request.
