NETGEAR - Nighthawk AC1900 Router with DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem - Black

All of my home WiFi issues went away as soon as I installed this higher end cable router/modem from Netgear. I have tried 2 cheaper unit previously but had connection issues in rooms near the far end of my 200 sq ft home even with 2 WiFi extenders being used. I also had frequent “buffering” on tv’s in the house that were streaming. All these are resolved with the new router.

This NETGEAR modem router was cable ready %26 easy to install! My internet provider had no problems activating it. Earlier, I bought one from a well-known brand which I had used for 15 years, staying loyal. But after 4 calls to my internet provider, the reps couldn't get it to work. Going forward, I'll probably select NETGEAR again. Walmart delivered it on the same day that I ordered!!!

I bought this modem due to shipping delays with an xfinity modem and it was ready to set up right out of the box the prompts made it easy and was able to immediately add it to my xfinity account. Not a single issue and runs great for gaming or just watching streaming services

We have been using the NETGEAR Nighthawk cable modem and WiFi router combo and it has worked great for our home. Setup was simple and we were up and running quickly without any issues. The connection is fast and consistent, even with multiple devices running at the same time. Streaming, gaming, and everyday use all run smoothly with no lag or drop in speed. It is nice having the modem and router in one unit. It keeps things simple and cuts down on extra equipment and rental fees from the provider. Overall, this has been a solid and dependable choice and I would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their home internet setup.

I've been with NETGEAR for 20 something years, they have the greatest products. And the Nighthawk has been the best product by far. Easy hook up, connecting with your internet provider is also easy. The Streaming is is excellent as well.

These devices have outdated firmware you're gonna have problems with the setup especially with spectrum, that being said once you get past the headache with tech support their decent devices

Do not buy this router! From 2019-2025 no problems, it worked fine but my house burned down this past January in the Palisades fire and Salvation Army gave us gift cards to Walmart so naively I bought the same exact router I lost in the fire. For 3 months it has been a nightmare constant connection drops, slow speeds, and the thing gets so hot it could burn your hand off. Never had this problems with my old one. And Netgear support? 3 months of wasting your time until you are out of the return window. And of course you are out sourced to another country where even with a case number every time you call you get the run around with no empathy and people that will insult your intelligence just reading an A.I. script. Sad to see if you do a quick google search there is a class action lawsuit against Netgear in California for this Modem and the Puma Chipset it uses. Netgear acts like they don’t know so I need someone at Wal-Mart to step in and protect their customers from these shady companies! This is unbelievable still cant believe how much they have wasted my time not to mention we still have no internet!

This is not to actually review the product itself. This is the abysmal nature of the delivered product which did not match the description nor the picture on the box. The box was kind of worn out. And the plastic bag that was supposedly to have protected the modem-router was already tampered with. Insult to injury the product inside is not even what I purchased or what’s on the picture on the box.

It got under 100mbps, even was on with netgear and the cable co, they blamed each other. I Hooked the old one up and got 300mbps. Then I can't find how to get a refund on the walmart site.

Unfortunately the MAC address registered to the unit was incorrect and the modem could not be registered with Xfinity. Netgear support was unable to provide the correct MAC address.
