Yes ..

LoveTV November 20, 2016

I love it. It worked right out of the box. Now I can move my VHS tapes to DVDs. I also can record either from my DISH. The recording from DISH may not be new for some of you, but my old DVD/VCR would not work with DISH or DIRECT. I am thinking of buying another one.

Quality unit

Movieguy December 9, 2016

Just received my VHS / DVD combo unit and it works as presented. I like the fact that the unit connects via HDMI input for both the VHS and the DVD. I didn't purchase it to make many copy's of VHS tapes, but more for having just one device that plays both formats. The VHS portion does a very good presentation of the collection of VHS tapes I have of movies and ups ales them for a nice viewing experience. (It is a crime to dispose of an older format VHS tapes and wasteful) I will/used to copy movies that are hard to find to DVD from VHS because some of them are over 30 years old. I am very pleased with this unit except that the VHS rewinds rather slow compared to the Toshiba this device replaces.

Sanyo DVD Recorder/VCR Combo

Sammy January 15, 2017

The Sanyo DVD Recorder/VCR Combo was purchased to convert my VHS home movies to DVD. The system is very easy to use and has exceeded my expectations. I bought a similar product years ago (I do not remember the brand.) and returned it because it was difficult to use. My only regret is that I did not find this one sooner. I highly recommend this product.

great purchase

Rascal January 15, 2017

This seems to be a quality purchase at a reasonable price. It is ideal foe those who have a lot of vhs movies or old vhs family movies from the recorders , but also have new dvd's. THIS IS THE BEST OF BOTH. I did a lot of comparison shopping and this player offers the most bang for your buck for general use (not a professional). It does allow you to convert the vhs tapes to dvd or if you don't want to bother with that, just sit down watch and enjoy. The purchase pick up was a seamless : Bought it online and picked it up in the store. NO REAL WAIT (and this was at Christmas time).

Perfect - Exactly What We Wanted

AnnfromRoswell December 27, 2016

This device is so easy to setup and use. I called the support line one time to clarify how to finalize discs which had been converted and even that process was simple and efficient! The money we have saved by doing this ourselves instead of having someone convert our VHS tapes to DVD is unreal! And the joy the process has given our family as we sat and watched the old videos while they converted has been priceless!!

DVD/VCR

krissiebaby June 4, 2016

D VD/VCR combos are getting harder and harder to find and more and more expensive. Ten years ago a similar model cost $100, now it's almost double in price. What are we supposed to do? Throw out all the tapes we've accumulated over the years? What about family videos?

Great replacement

usnnorva September 18, 2016

Had a similar unit that was older but stopped recording. This provided the best low cost solution. Only drawback noted was the lack of a standard cable connection out put. Not a show stopper but prevents the use of existing wiring. I really like the dubbing feature for vhs conversions. Just remember to "finalize" disks for use in other players.

Good Product

PhilN August 30, 2016

Bought unit to convert 35 year old VHS's to DVD. Followed instructions and product worked well for this purpose. Had to use Verbatim DVD-RW to transfer the videos. Had initially tried Sony DVD-RW but they would not record. There is one issue: I was unable to "speed up" the recording. For instance, a 3 hour VHS takes 3 hours to convert to DVD! Am I missing something?

Sanyo VCR/DVD Combo

Mrrcdd December 25, 2016

I bought this to transfer VHS to DVD. It will not display a clear image. The VHS tracking is terrible. The tracking adjustment does not work very well. I was trying to avoid the computer to transfer the videos. I know it is not the tapes, as all of them play perfectly on my old JVC VHS machine. Forget the direct tape to DVD transfer if you plan to buy this Sanyo. I will now have to use my JVC to computer then burn the DVD via computer. The DVD player on the Sanyo works great as does the upconversion.

Sanyo DVD Recorder/VCR Combo

Chipotle February 19, 2017

I received the combo system about 10 days ago. Although I work on its set-up a few hours per day - with phone calls to their support system with agents that do not help - I do not have the system set-up yet, mainly due to the fact that the instructions are poorly written. I was able to play a movie last night for the first time. I cannot yet get the VCR to record. I have not even started the set-up of the DVD portion. I have taken several runs to an electronics store to buy cords, etc., that I need. I do not know how many more days/weeks I will take to set-it up to the point that I understand how to run it. Everything seem simple, until I try to do it. Every time I turn on the T.V., there is a new problem with the VCR/Combo system. I wish the instructions booklet had been written professionally and the support agents would be better trained.
