NIVEA MEN Sensitive Cool Shave Gel, 7 oz

I've been plucking unwanted facial hair for years. It causes irritation, redness. I found this product at a drugstore and decided to give it a try since it was for sensitive skin and didn't contain alcohol. I love it! It soothes my skin and helps take the redness away. It also makes my skin smooth.

I've tried all other types of shave gel and this one is simple the best by far. It's not messy, spreads out smoothly over my face. Leaves it feeling smooth and soft. Barely ever any razor bumps after shaving. And the best thing about it is it smells absolutely amazing. If Nivea made a cologne out of this, I'd buy out the whole stock. Great job and will continue to buy this for as long as I can!

I opened a new box to find the bottle has a different cap. It's difficult to open even though I don't have issues with my hands. I tried to use the old cap from an empty bottle but it doesn't fit. I've used this product for a long time but it will probably be the last bottle.

I have been using this product for at least 10 years but am now very disappointed with the new bottle shape. I have used a pump action top supplied by Nivea for a while which doesn't fit the new bottle! Also as previously stated it's a struggle to close the new 'click' top after getting the lotion on my hands. I will finish this bottle and then look for an alternative product. Shame.

Nivea advertises that there's no alcohol in their Sensitive Cooling Post Shave Balm. While that may be technically true, the second name in the list of ingredients is Isopropyl Palmitate -- which is partly derived from alcohol and over time, can end up drying the skin. Other ingredients of concern include Phenoxyethanol, potentially harmful in high amounts -- and Sodium Chloride, which offers no benefits to the skin and salt obviously will dry the skin. It's also concerning that fragrance is used in a product designed for sensitive skin. But, I will say the balm leaves my skin feeling soft and seems to last. The directions on Nivea's bottle say to "apply liberally" -- which is actually terrible advice. If used sparingly, this inexpensive after shave is quite satisfactory.

I've used this product for years. IMO it's the best after-shave balm out there. Makes my skin look and feel better. The problem is the new packaging. What were they thinking? They certainly did not test this before putting it on the market. If your hands are wet, you can't get the top off and with the lotion on your hands after application, you can't get the top back on. This absolutely reduces a 5-star product to a 3-star, at best.

The round cap is horrible, it's hard to open and close, allowing no mechanical leverage like the old cap. As the bottle nears empty, I always turn mine over, allowing the last few applications to sit in the neck - the new bottle makes this a mess. Please, bring back the old cap, if this isn't changed before I run out of these 3 bottles, I'm going to look for a different product.

Just as other reviewers, this bottle cap is too hard to open. Unfortunately, I ordered 3 bottles! It does make one wonder who you tested this new cap on before switching to it. Before I buy more I will check the tops and if you haven't changed the top I'll be switching to something else, unfortunately.

The heavy glass container was bad enough since it took up considerable room in travel shaving kit, but the new cap is a disaster, practically impossible to screw on or off with wet hands. But I like the product. My solution? Buy a small plastic travel container with a flip top and squeezable sides. It's easier to manage and lighter on the road.

The new cap on Sensitive Cool Cooling Post Shave Balm is impossible for me to open or close when my hands are wet; it is also very difficult when my hands are dry. I've used this product for years but now I am looking for a new easy to open after shave balm. Too bad you didn't try it out with you existing customers first.
