THE noco 1 A /12/6 volt trickle charger, is an excellent and easy to use battery charger, the only minor drawback is the slow but safe rate of 1 amp hour charging ! Overall still a very good value for the money . If you need a faster charging rate either the noco 5 or 10 amp chargers would be an excellent choice !
I read carefully through all the reviews on this one. Review said this was the perfect product for someone who works from home and doesn't use the car every day. So this is the reason I bought it. I'm busy at home and don't go out every day and I just keep this on my car now and it starts every time no more are dead batteries when I go out there. This product is everything that the review said it was.
I have a new sports car that I don't drive and the battery kept going almost dead, wouldn't start car. I've always used diehard trickle chargers and tried one on this car and didn't seem to work. since using the NOCO I've had no problems. it could be that I moved the keys farther from the car so the electronics don't search for each other but I like the NOCO charger, only change I'd make is not having the charger plug directly into outlet, would be nice to have at least a short cord to plug it in.
As others mentioned, this doesn't come with instructions but they're easy to find online. Just connect to your car battery (typically, positive/red clamp first, then black; depends on your car) and plug the charger in. Was able to use the force charge option (by holding down on the button) to get it to detect my completely dead car battery. Battery was fully charged in about 3 days. You can leave this plugged in indefinitely, which is great for someone who works from home and only makes short, local trips when driving. The cable isn't very long, so you will want to be parked close to a wall depending on the size of your garage. It's simple, lightweight, small, cheap, and easy to use; if you keep a car in storage or don't drive often, just get it.
I use a charger regularly to keep my lawn mower battery in good condition during Northern winters. This particular charger, though, not only does that, but it can bring dead batteries back to life. It saved me from having to buy a $300 battery and the battery is working as well as ever.
It’s really easy to use, but this product says a lot of things a lot of technical things and at its core it’s a trickle charger. On the description it said that it repaired batteries and things like that. It doesn’t adjust chargers, batteries, small 6 V batteries to large car batteries in my case I bought it to try and repair a back up battery but it did not do that even though the box stated that it repaired batteries. So I returned it however, it does what it does.
This little trickle charger is great for keeping a charge on my batteries during the winter which will dramatically increase the life of the them. Plus it desulfates while charging. You can also leave them connected thats why I bought a few of them at that nominal price.
Was not hard to understand, just plugged it in and put my motorcycle battery in it and forgot it. Green light told me it was charged. Only bad thing was no real good instructions in the package.
On first use, the Genius1 determined the 12V AGM battery for my 1-yr-old-but-rarely-used ZT riding mower was bad, even though it measured 8V. I previously didn't have an AGM compatible charger so the battery went almost a year without being recharged, so this wasn't a total surprise. So I immediately ordered a new battery. Before the new battery arrived, I used the 'force charge' mode until the voltage was high enough to start the mower. After an hour of use, the Genius1 was able to charge the battery normally and I haven't had any more issues. Now I have two good batteries for a mower I rarely use (I live in an arid climate). I feel like an idiot for not trying the force charge mode before spending $100 on a new battery. I just took the 'bad battery' indicator literally. Perhaps the instructions should explain how the 'bad battery' indicator may not mean the battery is truly bad...?
was disappointed in the length of time it took ti charge a garden battery 2 days. works well and fully charged the battery but just to long to fully recharge
