Years ago, I had one of these, & loved it. Eventually, it died, & I've missed it! As I remember, it got put in the dishwasher by mistake, & melted. This will hold a stick of butter, unlike some that require the cubes be cut to fit. These are great for buttering corn on the cob & baked stuff that needs a buttered top, like cornbread. So much simpler than melting butter & dirtying a brush. I got several, to give as Xmas gifts. Definitely worth sharing, even if corn season is over for this year.
No sloppy butter on your corn on the cob!
Not only works for corn, but toast, pancakes and waffles too. Great tool when you are dieting, but need a little butter. LOL! Copy should read that it only holds a half stick of butter. Pic is deceiving...but I knew this as I have had one before.
Just broke my old butter spreader (am a corn-on the cob fanatic ;)) and this one is much better. Stores the butter with the lid, so you just pop it in the fridge and it's ready for the next corn on the cob feast ;)
This butter spreader is neat. I used one at a friend's house and had to have one. I bought three of them. One for my family and the others for gifts.
This product is perfect for my summer sweet corn boils! Such a fantastic design! I am looking forward to using it for bread and buttering baking pans as well.
Great idea, but not real easy for me to use. I have trouble pushing the butter all the way down to the end because the opening is deeper than my finger is long. Maybe great if you are buttering a lot of corn on cob . Just too messy for me to butter toast. Probably because I can't keep the temperature of the butter or margarine just right.
Not overly impressed. The cube has to be pushed in; it also does not slide easily so the feed is interrupted instead of being steady when vuttering cob corn. Also, no way to push the inside unit once it is down a ways; almost impoosible for a senior with hand problems.
This thing is not properly made. For one thing, it took a while to figure out exactly how to put it together because there were no instructions. But even after we got it together, it never worked properly. The butter either doesn't go in or it slides out before you push it down. I didn't even donate it, just threw it in the trash.
does not fit a true stick of butter
