Now Foods Raw Pecan Halves and Pieces are a product of the USA, vegan, non GMO, fresh and delicious! Being that they are raw, they have a slight crunch while retaining their natural moisture. An excellent source of healthy fats, eating regularly may help to lower bad cholesterol. They are in the top 15 antioxidant-rich foods, high in fiber, a good source of protein and vitamins. My April 2018 order arrived with a Sell-By Date of December 2019 (date is printed below the nutrition label, black ink in an area that is brown, so it is hard to see in low light - see photo). Now Foods Pecans arrive in a fairly thick plastic ziplock style bag making storage easy. All nuts should always be sealed and stored in the fridge (or freezer for longer term) to maintain their freshness. One of my favorite ways to enjoy pecans is to LIGHTLY roast them. My recipe is simple: 7 minutes in a 350 degree oven on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Be sure to spread them out, do not overcrowd. Use the middle rack in oven and be careful not to over-roast: you only want to heat them through. If you need to do a large portion at once, take them out and stir them around at the halfway point, and maybe go a minute or 2 longer on total time. Rule of thumb when roasting, remove them from the oven when you start to smell them, you don't want to burn (and ruin!) them. The heat activates the natural oils and enhances flavor. They are delicious eaten while warm. Roasted pecans have a nuttier flavor and a little more crunch to them. I do a large tray and after they've cooled I store them in small, airtight (2 oz midget) containers, making perfect snacks on the go. For appearances in baking: Keep in mind that this is a package containing “halves and pieces” (see photo). Some cookie or dessert recipes might be calling for halves. I'd say at least half the bag (if not more) was halves, so if you're planning to make a batch of fancy cookies, you'll find plenty of halves here. Enjoy!

As always, Swanson supplies fresh, never rancid nuts in their brands. We've been using them for years and they always have been really good. We store them in a freezer or refrigerator depending on how soon they are used.

These are wonderful and so convenient. I keep them in the freezer so they are always fresh, and remove just what I need for whatever I am cooking. They are great to snack on also. I am very pleased with the quality and freshness.

First time trying this brand pecans as I prefer to buy organic or wild. These are fresh, crisp & with good pecan flavor. This bag of pecans in my August 2021 order have a best by date of 4/2023.

Nice size and flavor. I often toast these in the oven with oil and salt or make keto ‘candied’ pecans. They are also good for baking and eating raw. Good value for quality product.

Fresh, Raw Nuts are a regular snack food for me. I love the Swanson Brand Organic Pecans, but I would go through the 5 ounce size pretty quickly. I looked for a larger size for convenience sake, and I found that Swanson didn't have their Pecans in a larger size, but NOW Foods had these Pecans in this 12 ounce package. I like NOW Foods. They are consistently high quality and good all across their entire product line of nutritional supplements in all forms (caps, tabs, liquids, and powders), plus food items, and their are generally priced very well. So for convenience sake I ordered this 12 ounce bag of Pecans put out by NOW Foods. They are good. Actually, they are okay for the most part. Fresh, nice flavor, really no complaints. However, they just aren't as good as the Swanson Organic Pecan Halves available in that 5 ounce size. Sure, this 12 ounce bag lasts longer, and it is a good buy, and it is worth buying again. I think if you buy this product, you will like it. . . . especially if you chop the nuts up to use in baking or other recipes. But for just eating them right out of the bag, which is what I do, I think I'll go back to the Swanson Brand in the smaller 5 ounce bag when I reorder. Don't get me wrong, these are good, dare I say delicious, eating them right out of the bag. I actually can recommend them. It's just that I can recommend the Swanson Brand Organic Pecans more highly.

I love the unsalted pecans but these just don't have the taste I'm looking for. I love the convenience of home delivery since we're over 20 miles from town.
