NUK Sip Trainer Cup with 3 Flow Speeds, Sippy Cup, 1-Pack, Unisex

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our little lady just turned 12 months old and has been using other popular sippy sups for about two months. She just had them mastered when I received this NUK trainer cup as part of a Stellar product testing panel. Upon first inspection, I really enjoyed the design of the cup; The adjustable flow is fantastic, the lock-mode works well, and the lid is easy to clean. The first time she used it I had to put the flow on the lowest possible setting, like almost locked, because she wanted to suck the water out like her other cups and would get huge gulps of water. It occurred to me then that she may be too young for this cup yet as she's also still breastfeeding and just has that natural instinct to suck. She loved using it though, and was very proud of herself! I also realized you really have to devote to using this and should probably get more than one. It wasn't helpful switching to a different style cup at each meal. All in all, I think this cup is genius and hope it holds up well because I will definitely be using it more as she gets older!

She absolutely loved it! The adjustable flow know was only set to the slowest flow for my daughter as she is still learning how to drink from a sippy cup, but it was extremely easy to change the flow. It does take a little bit of practice and patience. The first few uses my daughter turned it upside down and the water just flowed out, but she got the hang of it after a few uses. The lock mode does great and keeps the cup from leaking! We will be using this cup any time we travel. The cup and lid are really easy the clean. The adjustable knob comes all the way off so you can clean the whole lid and it is really easy to put back together. I will be recommending this sippy cup to other moms!

It took a few tries but seemed pretty intuitive and he did get the hang of using it, which was great. The adjustable flow knob is great for beginners and I liked being able to start him slower then increase the flow once he got the hang of it! We had started our 7 month old on an open cup and she took to it pretty well but was having a hard time tipping her head back. This cup is nice because it prevent all the water from pouring out of the cup. There is an option to pace the water to whatever speed is comfortable for your baby. Our baby now understands that you don't have to put your face down onto the cup and that the cup can come up. The cup itself is quite big for a training cup and too bulky for a new drinker. But with support, it works great. The blue is cute too!

My 22 month old daughter has just started using this sippy to get her training on drinking from an open cup. We have been using this cup daily for breakfast and dinner for the past 2 weeks. My daughter is still using the 'first level' flow, but she seems comfortable with it, so I think we will be at this 'level' for a while. I think this cup is uniquely designed, but with a few minor flaws.  I love that it offers 3 adjustable flows, however, I do think the flow levels could be better indicated on the cup. For example, putting numbers 1, 2, and 3 could signify levels 1, 2, and 3. I was having a hard time telling which spout level I was on, and sometimes I still have to squint when assembling the cup to the proper flow. I love that there is a lock mode for the cup, but do think it is very hard to twist the top to the lock mode and then back to the open flow mode. It is a minor issue for us since we hardly use the lock mode. Cleaning the cup is super easy, and it is effortless to assemble it back together.  Overall, my daughter has enjoyed using this cup, and we will continue to use it until she is comfortable using an open cup.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 14-month-old did okay with learning to drink from this cup. It took a few tries, and she had to learn to set it down correctly. If the cup is on its side, it leaks. She loved playing with the puddle, and I was left with a big mess. The adjustable flow was okay. I felt like the cup was a fast flow on the lowest setting. It took some getting used to for my child. The lock mode was a nice feature, and it's something that I haven't seen on similar-style cups. It made the cup easy to transport. The cup was easy enough to clean and only had three pieces. I loved throwing it in the dishwasher. The tricky part is getting the cup to fit back together. The middle inserts and twists into the top. It can be finicky to put it back in. If it's not perfect, I can't lock it all the way. This is honestly the last kid's cup I use. All in all, it's a good cup. It's not the first cup I reach for when preparing a cup for mealtime. I guess that she was not quite ready for this cup developmentally as the flow was too fast. We liked the slow flow as we've done well with straws but are still getting the hang of drinking from an “open cup” without getting a face full of water. It's a little large for my 9 month olds hands, but in the coming months this will be a really helpful cup. It's nice that it seals to prevent spills bc we can throw it in our bag or seal it up when we inevitably get distracted and decide that drinking time is over. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried so hard to get a picture of kiddo using this but he just moves so much because he gets so excited when he sees the cup that the pictures were almost all blurry. We received the NUK sip training cup from stellar product testing panel and have been using it for a few weeks now. It's been really great for my 9 month old to practice using a cup. He still likes to watch the water pour out more than he likes to drink from it so we have it on the lowest flow setting. It's super easy to turn it closed all the way when he flips it over or open it more when he's actually drinking from it. Once he decides he's done drinking we just lock it and let him play with it so he can get used to holding it and hopefully learn top from bottom. I really like how easy to clean the cup is, the lock comes apart so I can thoroughly clean it either by hand or in the dishwasher. It's a really great trainer cup, but I do wish I could slow the flow even more. The lock helps minimize spills; it doesn't leak at all when locked, which is a huge improvement over some other trainer cups we've tried. I think once he gets better at it I'll probably like it even more, he's just still learning. We practice with it every day so hopefully he'll start figuring it out soon!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The NUK Sip Trainer can be a practical tool for older kids transitioning to a regular cup. My twelve month old was trenched in water every time she used it. The water speed didn't start out as slow as I would have expected. It ended up being more stressful and needed to be supervised entirely while using the cup. Not to mention when they tipped it over it just created even more of a mess. I wouldn't recommend this product if your looking for an easy training cup, of all the other sippy cups I have used to train my older three children, this created the biggest mess. Will start off that we are 8.5 months and the packaging did list 9+ months, but given we are in the trial stage of starting water and using cups we tried this cup out. First was bit disappointed that it does not display any type of markers to measure ounces of liquid. At these early stages it is very important to know that so I had to measure prior to putting water in cup (which is an inconvenience). Next it is difficult to get any liquid out when sitting in a height chair as it does require you to tip head back or cup significantly so not ideal for teaching in a proper eating setting. Just testing it out with the different flows over the sink, I could see it being helpful, but for a much older baby (perhaps over 1 year), but not ideal for average 9 month old indicated on the package. For the positives, it is easy to wash and fill and when ‘closed' it did not spill any liquid. We will try again with this product as we get a bit older.
