I don't need stuff like this often so just finally needed them last night. they were easy to take and I went to sleep and they completely solved the problem. I know better but if I have milk before bed like cookies and milk or ice cream with milk, at some point I will be woken up by a surge of acid that makes me think I am throwing up. I've had silent reflux (LPR) for years, not the classic burning heartburn. Just a raw throat, a hoarse voice every morning, and that awful feeling of acid creeping up the second I lie down. I'd been through my calcium antacid, a daily PPI, and a gel based alginate. The alginate gel sort of worked, but the taste and sticky texture made me dread it, and it was a nightmare to travel with. Small easy to swallow tablets, simple ingredients just what is needed, and generally effective. With any alginate product, it really depends on the timing of when it is taken and other foods that have been taken around it, so the effectiveness can vary, similar to other alginate products. So, no obvious side effects and helpful to have on hand without having to chew anything which is a plus. Would recommend to have on hand.

I have had severe GERD, IBS, and LPR for many years and am on PPIs. I wanted to try this to see if it helped my symptoms since it is more natural. However, after I took it, I felt a heavy sensation in my stomach, which I expected, but it made me very nauseous. It also made my heartburn worse. I only took one tablet, and I'm glad I didn't take two because it would've been a nightmare. To those who have severe reflux like me, I'd say feel free to try it because everyone's body is different, but be wary because it might not have the desired effect.
