FYI to any parent trying to check items off their school supply list...this is a primary composition JOURNAL (has the space on top to draw) and not the regular primary notebook that has the fully lined pages top to bottom. I don't know why its such a mission trying to look for those in different colors...

Great item, especially since alternatives are overpriced. Couldn't be more pleased for the price at just over $1 apiece. The lines are great (yes, they have the little dashed mid-line like Primary journals should). These are for 2-3 grade so they're a bit shorter than the kinder primary journal writing lines, these ones are slightly shorter than the diameter of a standard colored marker (the standard thick ones). These are actually primary journals rather than primary composition books so there's a blank space at the top of the pages for drawing in (a little less than half the page height), but although the exact description doesn't match the school supply list I have gotten the impression from the teachers and school that these journals are actually preferred to the composition books and meet all the same needs plus more. Hope you like them too.

This book is designed for a student that is learning how to write. The pages are split in half so that there's plenty of room to write and to learn letter formation. I would recommend this to someone that is looking for a composition book for their student.

Absolutely love this composition book for my 1st and 2nd grader. I was worried about their handwriting and this is the perfect size to help them practice without having to write obnoxiously large letters like in other handwriting books. My 2nd grader likes to doodle during virtual learning so the top blank section is perfect for that!

I am giving 5 stars because it is a nice composition book for grades 2-3. I thought I was ordering the regular composition book but I will find a use for it since my grandson is in kindergarten. As Im typing this I think I will use one of the books for my recipes.!!!

The only reason I ordered this is to record online recipes for easy reference. I do like that it contains 100 pages. However the paper is very thin, and the writing almost comes through on the other side and is very visible; which means you cannot write on the back side. Also there are no lines on almost half of the sheets, and that makes it harder to keep it well composed. But for the price, you can't beat it.

I know usually the quality of these notebooks are not the best even though they cost more than regular composition notebooks, but for these the sheets felt and looked like rice paper. I didn't know if to give it to my kid or blot my face with it ..lol ...better yet I will be returning them.

As others have shared, these are half blank on top and primary ruled on bottom. I needed all of it lined. None of this was detailed in description and the pics were misleading. I should've read the reviews. This is a great book if that's what you're looking for.

It took 4 weeks to receive this item and the book only had half pages lined for writing with area for drawing pictures in the top half which was not anywhere in the description. Ridiculous and a waste of time and money.

To anyone looking for a regular composition notebook, i.e. literally just a notebook of lined, bound paper, this is not what you want. This notebook is for kids, like to practice cursive and stuff.
