This was an extremely durable rod and should be used primarily for heavy catfish or possibly for deep sea

Okuma trolling rod
I have the 7' 6" and now this 8'6" Down rigger rod and handles just perfect. I do recommend this rod for the price. I will purchase another just to keep as extra. Hope this was helpful. Fish On!

Okuma Pro series Trolling Rods
Okuma Pro Series trolling rods are a great value for Walleye, Salmon, Steelhead and Lake Trout fishing in fresh water (Great Lakes). They are a very affordable way to get into copper line trolling where the rod eyes need to pass bigger joining knots. Multiple lengths available so make sure you're ordering the right length. Walmart shipping was excellent. My rods arrived quickly and very well protected. I highly recommend Walmart whose prices are very competitive and shipping is fast and convenient.

Excelletn quality rod at a modest price
A good rod to use trolling for Maine Lake trout using leadcore line. Action is not extremely stiff making playing fish much more fun than stiffer rods. Still has enough backbone to handle any fish the in the Maine lakes.
