Onkyo TX-NR6100 7.2 Channel THX Certified Network AV Receiver

I purchased this AV receiver to replace an old Denon unit. Setup was surprisingly easy. It comes with a microphone. Set the mic at your listening location and press a button. Everything is automatic. It has good Ethernet network and Bluetooth connectivity. It automatically found my music server, and presents a nice menu on the TV for playing albums. Altogether, I am very pleased.

So far I like everything about it. I purchased this to replace my 20 year old Onkyo HT-R560 receiver. I really enjoy the audio through hdmi. I eliminated many cables with this purchase!! I looked long and hard for a worthy replacement and I found this. It sounds great!! Definitely another good quality receiver from Onkyo! My wife and kids are also very impressed with the sound!!

Great product and I got it for pretty much half the regular price! It works well in my dual zone setup.

The price of this receiver has been fluctuating even as this item has been released %26 available from Onkyo for a long time. The Walmart price was low at the time of my purchase. The receiver meets my requirements and performs well.

Like: HDMI connected devices look extremely good and sound great. Klipsch speakers sound great with this unit. Android devices have no Bluetooth connection issues. Many custom options for configuring the system. Network apps work good. Dislike: Using Windows PC as a media server is clunky at best. Sometimes no sound issues. Bluetooth from Windows base PC only connects sometimes. Sometimes no sound issues. If listening to music, a physical or app equalizer is a must. You will not be happy with the sound quality without this. Built in treble/bass have little effect on the sound quality.

It goes into standby mode occasionally.

Product says it works with Alexa, but it doesn't. Called support and they said the problem is with Amazon and they don't seem to be interested in fixing it. Confirmed that multiple customers have called support with this problem. Was told to delete the device in Alexa, reboot the receiver, ensure firmware is current, reboot router, remove and re-install Alexa app. All most all of that is ridiculous, but I did it anyway to humor them and see where this goes, and it still doesn't work. If Onkyo can't make Amazon fix it, or prioritize the fix, no one can. Customers sure can't. If Onkyo can't make Amazon fix it they need to remove the marketing info that says it works with Alexa. I'm sending the receiver back because I expect it to do the things it says. Alexa compatibility was a reason for selecting this receiver over some of the other choices I had. If this wasn't enough, I'll also add that I didn't appreciate my support experience. They have a long way to go when it comes to customer service. They don't even log or create tickets for issues reported by customers.

Very bad sound. Even the AccuEQ calibration. I returned it. The replacement Pioneer AV receiver I got was way better.
