Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein Powder, Double Rich Chocolate, 3.89 lb

The double rich chocolate by optimum nutrition is one of the only flavored whey protein powders on the market without sucralose or stevia (unfortunately I’m allergic to both). And it tastes like chocolate milk! What more could a girl want in a protein powder?

Love it. It’s a simple whey protein with a mild taste. It’s milked very fine so it mixers easily in almond milk, oat milk, regular milk, juice or water. Provided essential protein and minerals for recommended daily dietary intake. Great for athletes or anyone working out to improve muscle performance and recovery. By far, my favorite whey protein powder. It also doesn’t have a weird aftertaste like most protein supplements do.

10/10 I was using MyProtein but the prices increased and after using it for years I didn't like the taste anymore. I've been ordering this same double chocolate from Gold Standard for months now. Me and my stepdad both use this for our daily shakes. It's not overly chocolatey which I love because I don't like sweet shakes. I make my shake the same way every time banana, strawberries, blueberries, amarranto seed, milk, 2 scoops protein powder and it's the perfect consistency mixed in my NutriBullet. Good price, and doesn't taste weird like chalky loveeee

Chocolate flavour actually tastds like chocolate. Blends well. Texture is smooth, no after taste, no clumps. Generally buy plant / pea protein but this whey is really superior. No need to add dates, maple syrup etc as the flavor with unsweetened soy milk is delicious. Impressed.

I have been using Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein Powder for years as a supplement after weight lifting to build increased muscle mass. Unfortunately, it has gotten VERY expensive over the years with many retailers charging $90 - $100 for a 5 lb. container. So this nearly 4 lb. container is a good deal, especially at the sale price. The Double Rich Chocolate is not my favorite flavor, but Walmart doesn't carry Chocolate Malt in the 4 lb. size.

I started this regime to help support my daughter (not that I could not use the help myself) and found after the 2nd day I had more energy and overall felt better. I have a busy life, so at first I did not notice. However, one morning I missed taking this and I could feel the lack of energy and overall wellness by mid-afternoon.

Good product but the prices are all over the place. You can easily pay more than you have to so shop around. You have to have your calculator handy to evaluate per-ounce cost, because there's so many different container size/price combos.

this stuff is supposed to be really good and seems to work well however, if you're looking for something that tastes good, this isn't it. this powder tastes awful. it is tolerable if you use milk, but if you use water, you can expect it to taste like vitamins. this is the double chocolate one I'm talking about. haven't tried the other flavors yet.

I've been a consistent customer of Optimum Nutrition products, but the recent purchase of the Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein Powder in Double Rich Chocolate left me a bit disappointed. The container was far from full upon opening, which gives a misleading impression considering the price. While the weight may match what's advertised, the oversized packaging feels excessive and contributes to a perception of reduced value- especially when premium pricing is involved. From a health-conscious perspective, the product delivers on its protein promise, but it also contains artificial sweeteners and common allergens that some individuals may wish to avoid. For those mindful of long-term wellness or dietary sensitivities, clearer labeling and less reliance on artificial ingredients would be appreciated. I still respect the brand's quality, but I'd like to see more transparency in both formulation and packaging.

‼️‼️HORRIBLE PRODUCT‼️‼️ This overpriced product is atrocious! It tastes like chalky water %26 leaves a residue at the bottom that will not mix in. I’ve tried mixing it with a lesser volume %26 the result is the same. Adding vanilla or cookie batter extract do not even help. I’m not very particular about protein shakes but it at least must be palatable, which this is not! Do NOT buy this product. It is a waste of money‼️
