I'm happy that WalMart is carrying these HIGH VELOCITY tall stand fans, again, after not appearing on the radar for some time. The price can't be any better as the first ones to come out at Lowe's and WalMart about 9 years ago were well over $100 and going up!!! Prices kept going up or product disappeared, so maybe people stopped buying them. You will save so much on your central AC and electric bill! They tilt even to a flat position. The height on this stand fan model was just right not like the shorter ones or the ones that sat on the floor. I was worried about safety with those around pets or small children. The only thing you have to make sure is if you run it for months on end never shutting it off, make sure the fan blades are clean from dust or pet fur. I use a wooden shishkabob stick taking only a few minutes to do this. Make sure you spray this HIGH VELOCITY STAND FAN with WD 40 after each season's use, but do not turn the fan on; if you do, it will spray everywhere. The idea is to make sure it's lubricated really quick ready for the next season.

This is just what I had wanted for some years now. Nothing blows better than metal blades. Growing up in the 60's places like Western Auto and basically all shopping stores was all they sold, metal fans. They're a little louder than your typical plastic blades but the air these fans blow is amazing. We are so glad to have purchased this fan, my wife goes through those hot sweats and this fan is just what the doctor ordered. Great prize, fast delivery, and excellent product!

This fan is the best fan I have ever purchased. The wind is mighty and covers a large area. I like a fan with some noise to fall asleep to and this fan has the perfect steady white-noise. The only drawback is the fan is non oscillating, but it really doesn't matter because after you feel the wind from the fan 20 ft. away, you'll know you made the right choice! So for all you people out there that love their fan noise to make you sleep better... this will be perfect for you!

I bought this fan since the one I bought last year was just not cooling my living room. This fan is very powerful and cools a whole room easily. It is a little noisy, but that's expected since it wasn't really made for a home. Still it looks nice in chrome and black.

This is a heavy duty fan that can help with Florida heat. I use it in an animal enclosure to help with air circulation.

This fan is wonderful. It has a heavy base and puts out a lot of air. I bought another one because I was so happy with the first one!

If you're looking for a VERY powerful fan, and do not mind (actually prefer!), white noise, THIS is the fan you want. After the one we had for MANY decades finally 'died', we thought we wouldn't find another powerful one. This one was a pleasant surprise. While the highest setting is a bit louder than the one we had, we're used to going to sleep with sound and are very happy with this fan.

The only reason I didn't rate this fan a 5 is because it's pretty loud. I'm using it in my bed room to blow on us while we sleep. It does an excellent job. It's very powerful even on the lowest setting but like I said...it's loud. I sleep very well because I have a nice hard breeze blowing across the bed but the loudness takes a bit of getting used to. If you're looking for a nice strong blowing fan this would be perfect for you. If you're looking for a quite fan that is powerful, this will cover the powerful part but definitely not the quite part. If you can get over the noise, it's perfect.

I purchased a Lasko fan in your store. I brought it home and assembled it. I was really disappointed. It was plastic, advertised as 3 speed (the motor only worked on one speed), and produced very little air current. I returned this item and looked for another fan in the store. They only had CHEAP fans in the store that were worth NOTHING. I went on line and found the Optimus fan. I am happy with the Optimus fan. It is constructed with metal and really produces at high velocity. I may be doing more of my shopping on line. I am disappointed with the limited brand names stocked in my local Wal Mart store. Maybe I will have to go to Lowe's or Home Depot if I want a quality item. I appreciate Wal Mart's price savings, but not if you do not offer a range of brands and quality items in your stores.
