Love this little thing! We bought this to plug the fan of our wood stove into so we don't have to reach behind it to turn the fan off/on while the stove is running. Best investment ever! It has never lost connectivity, was super simple to set up, and even easier to use. Ease of use is simple--on/off switch in the app. That's what I wanted. We haven't used the Alexa voice part, as we don't have devices like that, so I can't speak to how well that feature works. But if you're looking for a cheap, straightforward way to turn a device on/off, this is your device. This is our first "smart" outlet, and we have already discussed purchasing several more for other specific items around the house.

My favorite thing I've bought all year! Super easy to use. I have used it to automatically turn on and off an ozone generator while I'm at work, turn on a space heater in the bathroom on my way home, control Christmas lights, time my crock pot. It is simple and versatile and extremely useful.

VERY easy set up. I personally use with voice commands through Alexa app. Works perfectly. (Other non-Alexa options are available. See their enclosed instruction paperwork). Convenience is major reason for this purchase. I use it as outlet for my bedside table. Quick command turns light on for getting up for bathroom visits or to grab medication at night. No fumbling. (Obviously not on a scheduled on/off for my purpose). Highly recommend.

Purchased for my 84 yr old mother who is blind in one eye and due to macular deg AND glaucoma has very low vision in her other. Using Alexa she can verbally tell specific lights to turn on and off. This is a game changer for her. Especially in the middle of the night!

I use one for a light that shares a circuit with an outlet and cannot otherwise be controlled independently. if it loses connection and i cannot control it with my phone, it defaults in the on setting. the other i attach to a desk fan by my bed because i can schedule it for when I'm in bed. I would like for it to be able to use my Smart Things app to control it, this is my reasoning for removing one star.

Two in a pack. They are not dual band. They work on a 2.4ghz signal. If your router is like mine and is 5ghz, then they are worthless to you. Also, the item I bought, only one of the plugs would even power on at all. Good price though, right? So, to sum it up, if your router is 2.4ghz go for it, you might get lucky.

THE ON - OFF FEATURE IS REALLY HARD TO SET UP - IT IS NOT INTUITIVE AT ALL. THEIER CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GREAT! THEY DO SEND ME INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO SET UP THE TIMERS FOR MY 3 MODULES TO GO ON AND OFF BUT THEN THEY WORK FOR A WHILE BEFORE THEY FLAKE OUT AND DONT TURN ON WHEN THEY ARE SUPPOESED TO. VERY FRUSTRATING !!!!!

Completely misleading description. Purchased the 2 pack based on the 1800watts/15amp rating. This is falsified information, the units are not as described. They are both a 1250watts/10amp rating so you better be careful trying to use these in a high draw application based on the false sales pitch description. With that I do not recommend these based upon the possible serious safety issue.

I bought these hoping for an easy way to automate a couple lamps. The plugs themselves are compact and the scheduling and voice control features are nice once everything is set up. They connect to Wi-Fi without needing a hub and work with Alexa or Google Home, which is convenient for basic smart home setups. That said, the biggest downside is the app situation. These plugs don't actually work with the old iHome app anymore and require a different app to control them, which isn't made very clear. That made setup confusing and honestly pretty inconvenient. Once they're running they do the job, but the app compatibility issue definitely makes the experience more frustrating than it should be.

I bought these to be able to turn a space heater on/off while out of town for a week and VERY cold weather coming in. It took forever to get it connected which required me calling CS. After about 30 minutes on the call I finally got it connected. During that call, the guy on the other end of the line was sharing some very specific details about my home network that was unsettling. In any event, I went down in the basement and plugged it into an outlet directly below my router. It was no more than 10 feet away through the floor in an unfinished basement (no ceiling). It didn't work. I was hoping to keep my pipes from freezing and was hoping this item would give me some comfort knowing I had a heater to keep the temps above freezing. I ended up just having to cross my fingers.
