Ortho Home Defense Insect Killer for Indoor & Perimeter Refill2, 1 gal.

I've had Terminix and Orkin at one point or another spraying my house. We started buying this 2 years ago. Cancelled our bug service. This definitely kills them. I find dead bugs everywhere after my husband sprays. I mean we still see spiders and scorpions we live in the country. But it's getting better every year we see less. So it does its job.

I pour this 1 Gal. refill onto my own 1 Gal. pump sprayer. I spray the outside perimeter of my home and it keeps the pests out. Florida is home to over 30 species of cockroaches. It does a good job of keeping the cockroaches out. I spray about every 6 months or so.

We use this product weekly, both in our home, our screens, on our porches, around all exterior doors and thresholds throughout spring, summer and fall. In winter, we spray monthly. We have had no problems in using it and very successful results. The refill jug is a true value. Home Defense has low odor, has never discolored any fabrics or carpets, is safe around pets after it dries. Honestly, we have had better results using this product than professional treatments and won't go back!

This product is very effective for Asian, beetles, spiders, insects, etc. I only use it on the outside of my house even though it says it can be used indoor and outdoor. I just don't like any sorts of chemicals inside my house and would not recommend that use. I always use a mask and full clothing when I spray it. I spray it on my house in Wisconsin one time a month from about May until October. It's very rare that I would ever see a spider even inside my house. Easy to apply. I would always recommend using gloves with any chemical. I spray about 4 feet up on the side of the house and 4 feet from the base of the house all the way around. I have a fairly large home and it only takes me about 10 minutes to go all the way around. I do not use it in enclosed spaces oron the lawn but only because I have rocks all the way around the base of my house.

Our professional pest control company treats the yard for ticks and fleas and recommended we apply Ortho Home Defense to the perimeter of our home including door thresholds, window ledges and garage door thresholds twice each year (February and August) and additional use if needed, such as ants around the doorway, etc. We have used it for several years and it does the job. Have not needed to use it indoors but would if needed.

I get this to use with the original jug that came with the electric sprayer. It says it works for 12 months. I use it every month over 2,000 ft . It's cheap enough to use every month just for peace of mind and it definitely is hundreds of dollars cheaper than Terminix every year.

Price listed for $8.97 and sold to me delivered for $11.46. Supposedly free shipping with the other two items I purchased at the same time. The product had a store clearance tag on it marked as $5.00 dollars!! I was definitely treated unfairly. Item is fine but pricing not fair.

I'm mixed on this review. While it does cut down pest activity somewhat, it does not stop them. I have purchased 2 gallons of this in a year. I used a gallon downstairs (kitchen and living room) and on doors, and a gallon upstairs ( 2 small bdrms and a bathroom). I also have to spray once every 3-4wks for it to be as effective as it is. I live in a townhouse so it's not a large space by no means. It's actually overkill the amount I've used on each floor. However, I still see pests, especially at my front door. I have an eave that hangs over my door so it does not get rained on to wash spray off, but I still see spiders there everyday. Inside I have ants in the spring-fall months and I still have them, just not as bad. I would think pests would be obsolete after that much insecticide, but no, just lessened. I will try another brand next year. Maybe if you don't live in a heavily wooded area this may work, but I'm not happy with my results, or the amount of time, effort, and money it has taken me to still see pests, and to still be spraying all season long. ***Also, I bought the refill jug the second time, it comes without sprayer, but you can use the sprayer from the first jug, however, the turn knob to shut it off or turn it on does not work on the refill, and I don't like that. Best thing about this is it is low odor. I have a 7lb Pomeranian with respiratory issues and I can spray this with her in the house. Long review, but an honest review.
