This is fits perfectly inside my backpack and the hose/straw works well. I sometimes feel unsure about whether the valve is closed all the way or slightly open. I also often feel like I'm going to break the mouthpiece when pulling it to open the straw. I'm sure I'll get over that. This works well.
I needed an economical replacement water bladder for my pack. I cannot say how long it might last, but even if it's for a few years, for the low price I paid, it will be worth it. There were no leaks and it was not hard to fill. I cannot think of any dislikes.
It can be a bit difficult to get the hose attached so it doesn't leak. It fits in the backside of my trail pack, perfectly. And once the water is started, it is pretty easy to drink from. The downside is the drying time after use.
Not sure what the hate is about. Works great with no leaks, but know a couple things first (I bought two and I've had the same experience with both). Make sure to clean it initially before using it or it has the weird taste that people are talking about. The second thing is make sure that your tube is screwed in all the way to your bladder nice and snug. I thought I had screwed it in all the way at first and I hadn't. Maybe this is where the other people are having an issue with leaks. So far I've taken both bladders on several day hikes as a primary source of hydration and I've yet to have any quibbles about it after setup. I'm happy with the $10 spent. In summary, clean your hydration pack before use and tighten your hose into the bladder well. If you do this, you shouldn't have any issues.
These hydration reservoirs are great for hikes and when you're doing yard work in this 100 degree Texas heat! The only thing I would change about this product would be to make the hose a bit shorter but I suppose I could just trim it too.
Outdoor Products is a great brand. I have ordered several products made by them and been completely satisfied. This hydration bladder meets my expectations and is just as good, in my opinion, as more expensive hydration bladders made by name brands.
It fit the bag and did the job!
It takes great effort to suck water out of the mouthpiece, which is not ideal while exercising and short of breath. It's also very difficult to keep clean. This is my first reservoir. I'm going back to plain ole water bottles- Much simpler and convenient.
I've used these vigorously in Arizona on the ranch, riding horses, hiking, any outdoor sport and they are phenomenal. This one from Walmart leaks so it gets your back all wet which not only deprives you of hydration, but on a 10 degree day, now you're also wet trying to care for 25 head of rescued horses. I'm on a fixed income as spent my budgeted funds already. Too late to return the defective one. So what do I do? I guess wait to save my Pennie's again and buy one somewhere else.
Terrible product. Never got a chance to use it. Cleaned it according to manufacturers instructions and the bag immediately leaked at the bottom. Defective right from the factory.
