Stays with the book
How nice that the episodes stays true to the book. There have been some scenes added not in the book, but fit in well. The costumes and settings are authentic, as are the historical activities. The only thing I've found to not be authentic (in my limited knowledge and experience) are what Claire calls the leaves of the Lily of the Valley. That has been my favorite flower for decades. I picked them where they grow wild on the floor of the Black Forest in Germany, and would recognize them immediately. There are some physically intimate scenes that are in the book as well, that would have been nice to have toned down, or suggested, in the movie. This makes the movie unacceptable for children.
