We really like the Outward Hound Slo Bowl! We got the large/regular size which really is indeed a good size bowl. We have 3 dogs: a Husky and two small breed dogs. They all share the same bowl and it holds plenty of food for all three of them (4 cups). At first, they were intimidated and scared of the bowl. Our Maltese Bichon mix dog looked up at me, then down at the bowl, confused, then back at me as if to say, "how do I use this contraption?" Later that day they started eating from it, and boy what a difference it has made! Their eating habits and behavior have improved greatly in a month of use. They don't scarf down their food and then waddle and lay around afterwards (presumably from bloating and digestion issues). Now, they take longer to eat (aka, at a reasonable pace), and as a result, their mood, behavior, and body weight, have all improved! The bowl is super sturdy and easy to clean (easy to handwash but it's dishwasher safe as well), and it doesn't slip nor tip over because of its clever design. I was concerned that the dogs may end up using this as a chew toy, but we've had it for a month now and they haven't so much as nibbled on it. I think that's because the unique shape prevents dogs from moving it, grabbing it with their teeth, or picking it up. Really smart design! I would definitely recommend this dog bowl to any dog owner! Petstages Slow Fun Feed Bowl: I was so excited to have the opportunity to try the Petstages Slow Fun Feed Bowl with my dachshund Snickers. He gobbles down his food so fast! When I first got him about 3 years ago, he would regularly eat all his food, 1 cup, in about 1 minute and then he would vomit it back up. It was so distressing that I started feeding him half as much twice a day. The dog I had before Snickers I free fed and never had a problem. I think the difference is that the previous dog I got as a pup, so he had always been free fed. Snickers is a rescue and shows signs of having had to fight for food in his past. Free feeding for Snickers is not a possibility. I think he would literally eat until he explodes. The Petstages Slow Fun Feed Bowl advertises on its label that the “ridges and mazes lengthen mealtime. Helps prevent bloat, regurgitation, and canine obesity.” It also says it promotes fun, healthy eating and it creates 10 times slower eating. Common sense says . . . . . I need to check this out. Snickers’ feeding time increased from 31 seconds to 2:28 with his first experience. Just shy of 5 times slower. I did some “off label” choices that may have created less of an increase than I would have experienced if I had gotten the smaller bowl. The Petstages Slow Fun Feed Bowl I chose is designed for “up to 3 cups” of food. The smaller choice was designed for up to 1 cup and I only feed ½ cup per meal. Still, I am incredibly pleased with the results and I got exactly what I wanted. Snickers has not vomited one time since he began using the Petstages Slow Fun Feed Bowl. He does not walk around wrenching his stomach anymore. He also seems to belch less, and he seems happier and healthier. It is too soon to know if he will lose weight, but I am certainly hoping that for him as dachshunds have serious spinal problems if they get too fat.

My older dog has always been a "chow hound." This bowl is the perfect size for him. He is a 55 pound mixed breed. It takes him about 5 minutes to finish a half cup of food now. This bowl truly does exactly what it says, it slows them down while eating.

This petstages slow feed bowl helps to slow down your pet's eating habits. It has ridges and mazes that force your pet to slow down while eating. When your pet eats slower they have less bloating and stomach issues. I have a "mini" pig and heard through a group I'm in that a lot of pig parents have used these type of feeding dishes for their pigs. My pig gulps down her food so fast that she is constantly gassy and then wanting to eat again in an hour. She will not eat her food wet down either. Pig's are always ready to eat as they lack the ability to "feel full ".By slowing down how quickly she eats she is able to go longer periods of time playing, sleeping or being. Mischievous before she is very insistent on eating again. This dish is top rack, dishwasher safe. Super easy to clean. It also has rubber on the bottom to help prevent sliding. I thought my pig might just dump it and push it around but she seemed very interested in it. It seemed to occupy her like she was playing and eating. Pig's are very smart and like to investigate everything so anything that hold their attention is super awesome! This dish holds up to 3 cups. It held my pigs food perfectly. I guess it would depend on the size of the pet food nuggets your pet eats. I give this dish a 2 thumbs up for my pig and I believe it would be every bit as great for dogs as well.

We LOVE this dog bowl from outward bound! We have a 4 month old German Shepherd puppy who destroys any food item in his path all day everyday. This bowl is tough! After his feedings if he's still hungry and decided to chew on it the bowl would hold up to whatever he could throw at it. The color is an attractive shade and very elegant. He still eats as fast as he can. It the maze like pattern keeps him from just gulping 4 cups in 3 bites. And it's fun to put treats in and watch him go at it. Even if you don't have trouble with bloat or fast eaters, I really do think Gunner loves the bowl and thinks it's fun to eat out of it and try to get the last morsel from the maze.

I use this bowl for my Rottweiler and he really enjoys the bowl and it has slowed down his scarfing of food.

My chiweine had been eating fast n having stomach gurgling n pain afterwards so i switched to a slow feeder... she hasn't had gurgling since. Since my girl is little i got a insert for her elevated bowl set. But will use this to travel with.

I love this feeding bowl it works great to slow our dog Leo down from eating way too fast and too much he had gotten pretty big just to be a little over a year old. This works great to manage his eating and weight so he doesn't end up gaining too much weight and it causing health problems and he doesn't throw his food up anymore I wasn't able to get a picture of him actually eating out of the bowl he doesn't like being messed with or too close when he's eating because he was around another dog for a while and got funny about his food like someone's going to take it from him. I definitely recommend this slow down feeding bowl for any dog.

We have a dog that is over 100lbs. He eats twice daily and is well within his weight guidelines. This feeding dish holds the exact amount of required dry food for each of his feedings it forces him to eat a little slower than he had previously been eating. He appears to enjoy eating from this since it almost involves discovering little treasures.

This little bowl here is a miracle worker if you have a pet that is overly eager and excited to eat lol. I actually don't use this for a dog, but my cat who in the past would often eat so fast that she would end up with indigestion and would sometimes be sick. Since getting and using this however, she has not suffered from indigestion and has not been sick. This has been such a helpful addiction to my pet parenting life.
