I thought the toy squirrels would not last long with 3 fur babies as most toys are ripped to shreds within a few days to weeks. This has been a game changer the squeakers are still working, the squirrels material is intact, They chew and play with them daily.
This is the greatest toy for my pup. First thing, I told her to "go find it" and she got all of the squirrels out and when I told her to "put the little squirrels back in their house so they can go to bed" she did. Of course she IS an aggressive chewer, so I have to watch closely so she doesn't tear up the squirrels. That's the only negative. I do love that you can get the replacement squirrels, if needed, which is something that almost no one offers. Highly recommend this for your pup. It's something that keeps them stimulated and occupied. They can play with it alone or with Mommy or Daddy.
This was a great purchase! Our golden retriever loved it, and it kept her busy longer than any of her other toys. As expected, she eventually destroyed the squirrels, but she had a great time doing it! I'll probably get her another one!
My dogs love this so much! The tree trunk is fairly big, it has 4 holes for squirrels to pop their heads out of, but it comes with 6 so I just stuff the extra 2 in the middle and they eventually dig them out. There squirrels have squeakers in them which the dogs absolutely love, I don't mind them because they're not screaming loud squeaks. My 4 month old golden retriever puppy is the biggest fan. He drags the empty tree trunk around and uses it for a pillow. He goes extra crazy if I put all the squirrels in and hide a few treats in there with them! This is one of the few toys I can give him and know it'll distract him for awhile. It's held up really well, I'm very happy with it.
I am really impressed with this toy, plush and well made! Each squirrel makes a squeaking sound which my dog loves. If I am in one room and she is in another room all I have to do is squeeze one of the squirrels and she will come running to play. The way I can get her to seek for the hidden squirrel is to take my hand and go up inside the plush tree truck with a squirrel and squeeze it to make it squeak and she will try to find it. This toy will keep your dog entertain. I would recommend it to a friend.
My dog absolutely loves this toy. It has seven pieces in total. It came with six squirrels and a plush squirrel home. The squirrels are firm to the touch, but soft when pressure is put on them. Each squirrel has a squeaky in the middle. My dog has to bite down about halfway before the squirrel will squeak. The squeak isn't loud or annoying. It is definitely the least annoying squeaky toy that my dog has. The squirrels and their home are well made. It takes a lot of chewing to destroy the squirrels. Most of the squirrels are completely intact after she has played with them every day for a month. A few of the squirrels have small holes in them, but the holes are still too small for any filling to come out. My dog doesn't chew on the squirrel home so it still looks almost brand new. There are five holes total in the squirrel home. My dog has no problem getting the squirrels out if their home. The squirrels are by far her favorite part of this toy. My dog loves carrying them around wherever she goes.
Cooper got all excited when I told him that the toy was his. He couldn't wait for me to take it out and take the little chipmunks out of their package. So, I handed him the bag of chipmunks, and he ran all around the family room with his new treasure, finally lying down to pull the bag apart. He's not a big squeaky toy dog, but he likes to hunt for his treats, so I put treats inside the log and put the chipmunks inside to hide them. He will then sit happily pulling the chipmunks out to retrieve the treats. I like it better than those plastic treat puzzle toys that are sold for dogs. There are no plastic pieces for him to possibly choke on! And, when he's in the mood to run, which he loves to do, I pull out the chipmunks and throw them for him to chase. So, I use this toy in different ways to make it as entertaining as possible for my little fur baby. This is a nice toy that most dogs will enjoy.
This is a really good sized log of squirrels! As soon as it arrived I called Odin over to see the new toy. he could not wait to start digging into the soft plush log and dig out a squirrel. then he dug out another, and another!!!! he tossed the empty log around to be sure no more squirrels to be found and then went to town on the squirrels, he ran off with one and noticed it squeaked! oh joy, now he was a truly happy pup. he squeaked and squeaked. one by one he tested each squirrel to be sure they also squeaked. he now walks around with a squirrel in his mouth as he likes to carry them and then squeak as needed LOL its too funny and if he brings you all the squirrels and the log, that means he is ready for you to reload it so he can root around and dig them out again. odin is an 80 pound German Shepherd and some toys he loves to chew to bits, but this one he has too much fun with and is not destroying it. he seems to know its a game to play. the cat got at it and she hid in the log! so, just saying, if you have a cat, this is a funny item for them. who knew. the toy comes in plastic bag in a box. its well made. the squirrels are all well anchored and you can tug on them hard and they hold up. an aggressive chewer who likes to chew stuffed animals might just go to town on this and eat them in a day, but, a dog who knows how to play with toys will have lots of play time on this. the end of the log has a stiff thing in it to hold the shape. the holes all have edging around them to help them last longer and there are 4 holes. the other end of the log has one bigger hole that makes it easier to refill with squirrels. there is one nubby knot on the log that a dog can grip and carry around. or they can just bite on to the log and carry it that way. I am a spark reviewer and I love this toy and recommend it for dogs who dont rip plush toys apart, but perfect for dogs who love play and squeaking things.
This toy is meant for a smaller dog. The stump part is the size of my hand and the squirrels are very small and are the size of a cat toy. My dog did enjoy getting the squirrels out and they are squeaky toys. My dog is an aggressive chewer and didn't destroy the squirrels when playing with them. Cute toy and different from the usual dog toys.
He likes the burrowing effect but all of the little pieces of material are coming off and he starts chewing on it. I guess maybe it needs a wash? I'm concerned he may swallow those. He also loves the little squirrels.
