OXO Soft-Handled Can Opener

I’ve tried plenty of can openers over the years, but the OXO can opener stands out as the very best. From the moment you pick it up, you can feel the difference... the handles are soft, comfortable, and offer a secure, no-slip grip that makes opening cans easy. The blade is sharp, and it seems to glide smoothly along the can’s edge, leaving a clean cut. It is easy to run and use, I bought a second for my RV and gifted one to my mother. It’s sturdy and well-balanced, and you can tell it’s built to last. I genuinely appreciate the thoughtful design, and it seems durable, after months of regular use, it still feels and works like new. Yes, it’s a bit pricier than other manual options, but in this case, you absolutely get what you pay for. If you want a dependable can opener, this OXO model is well worth every penny.

I have used a couple cheap-o can openers for several years. They rust and are very difficult to turn. I finally decided to treat myself to an OXO Stainless and I wish I would have earlier! It's comfortable to turn, not heavy in weight, but feels pretty heavy duty.

I would love to recommend a can opener made in the USA, but they all rust shortly after use. The Oxo brand does rust eventually, but it takes at least a year. I always wash on the top rack of the dishwasher. The Oxo brand is also easy to use and never slips on the can.

I love it so much the best can opener that I have ever had in my life so easy to use no problem turning it and also holding it, I can say any about the rust part yet because I haven't had it that to say anything on that part yet. It definitely easy to use any older person will be able to use this can opener.

I have NO IDEA why it's so hard to make a simple can opener. I purchased a few different ones from Amazon, similar to this one. They were ALL JUNK and did not work. I thew all of them away. Several months later I purchased this Can Opener from Walmart. It is PERFECT! Works great, just like it's supposed to. The handle is easy to turn and everything feels real strong and sturdy. It is kind of expensive, BUT WORTH IT! Highly Recommend this item.

I bought the OXO SoftWorks Stainless Steel Can Opener because I was tired of struggling with cheap, flimsy ones that made my hands cramp. On the comfort front, this is a total win. The handles are thick, cushioned, and truly non-slip, even if your hands are a little greasy or wet while prepping dinner. The oversized knob is also a lifesaver—it provides great leverage, making the actual turning motion feel much smoother than your average manual opener. So why 4 stars instead of 5? While it feels heavy-duty and premium, it’s not 100% foolproof. Every once in a while, it seems to "lose its grip" on the rim of the can, requiring me to back it up and re-align it to finish the cut. It’s also worth noting that this model doesn't have a magnet to lift the lid, so you’ll still need to fish the lid out (carefully!) once you’re done. Pros: Ergonomics: Incredibly comfortable for people with smaller hands or arthritis. Build Quality: The stainless steel feels durable and hasn't shown any signs of rusting. Versatility: The built-in bottle opener at the top is a handy little bonus. Cons: Consistency: Occasionally skips sections on thicker cans. No Magnet: You have to manually remove the lid. Overall, it’s a high-quality tool that makes a chore much easier, but it has just enough minor "hiccups" to keep it from being perfect.

I just got this can opener last week and so far it is working very well. I’m hoping it will last me a long time.

Doesn't hold up. was great when we purchased it, as ither reviewers said, smooth easy action. We do not use it a lot, %26 it is completely stripped out. You can turn the handle but the wheel doesn't spin at all. very disappointed in the very short life span of this item. Will not buy again.
